what is the background on that, i never knew what happened? nor was i around to see it...

In a nutshell, it was hosted by HTC as an adjunct to the various HTC arenas. One or more pinheads discovered a way to  hack it and HTC pulled the plug on it.

Oh yeah, a good number of folks, who flew H2H...free of charge, mind you, posted ad naseum demands/complaints/requests in the HTC/H2H forum.
