Title: When running out of fuel really does suck.
Post by: Masherbrum on April 25, 2009, 02:34:56 PM
Dantoo, here's the screenshots of last nights "rearm attempt".   I took the shortest route to the rearm pad, going on the grass.   I never would have made it from the conventional runway landing.

But alas, this sucks.

 :rofl

Man if only the ground crew had a little bit longer hose...

Myself, I took a pilot wound in the process of downing a JU-88.  I managed to make it back to a friendly airbase.  Touched down on the runway smooth as can be...  Then proceeded to pass out, veer off of the runway and into a field gun emplacement only to break my wheels off and be forced to ditch just a few feet from the runway.  Wish I had landed wheels up.  :cry

:) Should've retracted the flaps!

Made no diff, we just about all discoed a minute or so later anyway.

Oh man..

Anybody have a [Get Smart ] "Missed it by this much!" [/Get Smart] award?

This would certainly qualify.

I'm just a fierce msquealing competitor that when involved in something like FSO, I hate letting the team down.   Basically ALL of 9 GIAP survived the first wave, due to EXCELLENT escort by Joker's Jokers.   I think I held the

But I was close to throwing my stick (which I've never done) after seeing just how close I was.

I'm having more fun than in previous years of FSO's.   I see most of the "BS" is gone and this shows an active commitment to NOT ONLY the CM's, but the players that participate.

I thank you all for that.

I had not even 45 seconds of engine time after touch down, flaps had no difference in this one.   Unless they automatically drop, which I never heard, I never lowered them.

We're just having fun with it.  Up flaps might have given a few extra feet which makes it funnier.
It's a classic for sure.  Thanks for sharing :salute :rock

You shouldn't have taken the sheep to keep your crew company, but if you absolutely have to always remember to sheer them. There's less drag that way when they hang out of the windows.
