Title: I can't see GVs from the air
Post by: DYNAMITE on April 25, 2009, 07:08:51 PM
Hi all - quick question.

I'm back in the game after a long time and I'm having a bit of a problem.  For some reason i can't see GV's from the air anymore.  If I'm above 1000ft AGL I can't see jack... i mean zilch.  If they are firing, i can see the tracers but that's it.  If it's a PT boat I can see the wake but not the boat.

This seems like a major change from before... i maxed out the visual range in graphic settings but i still can't see jack.

Please help!!!

TIA

switch to ground view mode: shift-F4
shift-F1 to get back to normal view

Just to piggy back on the OP's question... I always switch to Ground Vis Range whenever I'm searching for GV's, but I don't notice any apparent change when I do... What does Ground Vis Range do to help you see GVs?

Thanks,
Tim

It will render everything on the ground and not render the horizon.  Full view renders everything to the horizon at the expense of detail on the ground such as bushes and, sometimes, gvs.

There's a range component where things are rendered or not in the various different view ranges that I do not know.

Anti-aliasing makes GVs' distinctive black dots blend in to terrain a lot more.
