Spitfire F.MkXIVc
This is the premier British air-to-air fighter of WWII. It is my prefered mount and has been for years. This would be a perk.
A7M2 Reppu "Sam"
Designed by famed aircraft engineer Jiro Horikoshi as the successor to his A6M Zero-Sen, there were only 1-7 production Reppu airframes produced. It seems to have been the best performing Japanese fighter of the war and greatly impressed its Japanese and American test pilots. This would be a perk.
Ki61 IIb Hien "Tony"
A good mid-war IJA fighter. This would not be a perk.
H8K2 "Emily"
This would give the IJA, Japanese and Axis a decent 4 engined bomber. It was defended by 5 20mm cannon as well as a smattering of smaller weapons. It also had self-sealing fuel tanks and armor for the entire crew. Unfortunately, it only carried 4,000lbs of bombs or depth charges. It could also carry two torpedoes, and not those wimpy US or European torps, but the nasty Japanese ones. This would not be a perk.
P1Y1 Ginga "Frances"
This would give a survivable bomber to the IJA. This would not be a perk.
Ki84 "Frank"
This was the best Japanese fighter to see action in WWII. It would give the IJA a competitive fighter. This would not be a perk.
B7A2 Ryusei "Grace"
This was the best torpedo bomber of the war. It also had dive bombing capabilities and could be used from carriers. This would not be a perk.
S.M.79 II
This is a decent multi-role medium bomber and pretty much the best bomber that the Italians had. This would not be a perk.
Il2-M3 Sturmovik
This is THE major ground attack aircraft of WWII. If its full list of ordanance options were included, this would make a huge contribution to each sides offensive capabilities. This would not be a perk.
Mosquito FB.MkVI
This is the most common version of one of the most versatile aircraft, if not THE most versatile aircraft, of WWII. This would not be a perk.
Comments are welcome, as are your lists.

The KI-61-II isn't really a mid-war plane, although, unlike the KI-61-I, it would actually be able to survive in the arena. 99 produced, the rest of the airframes were converted to KI-100's. never modeled before, either, so it would be a great addition to AH!
Ki-61 might have some interesting weapons....would you prefer 4 12.7mm's, or 2 MG's and 2 cannon? Would you prefer your cannon to be wing or cowling mounted? Maybe even strip away a few guns to go fight the B-29's? Or perhaps you would like to have 2 20mm's and 2 30mm's???
IMO Ki-61 is the only Japanese fighter that was beautiful. The rest of the Japanese designs looked like junk.

And also the B-25 as a non-perk or B-29 as a perk (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Hellooooooooooo? Are you saying the Japanese do not have a competitive fighter at the moment?

Jekyll,
No, I am saying that it would give the IJA a competitive fighter.
The IJN, and therefore the Japanese already have a competitive fighter in the form of the N1K2-J.

Hasn't it already been announced that 1.07 will be a mostly Naval add on's?
-
Good list Karnak, although I like the Ki-67 "Peggy" for a late war, Japanese Bomber.
-
I think that is an excellent list. I would prefer the SpitXIVe but excellent list anyway
-
My Choices:
US Air Force
P-47M or N(perK)
B-29(Perk)
B-25H Straffer Nose
P-61B,C BlackWidow
US Navy
F7F-Tigercat(perk)
F8F-Bearcat(perk)
Dauntless
Russian
IL-2 or 10
Mig3
P-63 King Cobra(perk)
Germans...
JU188
my 2 cents.
-
I'd like to see:
Il-2
Pe-2
Mosquito
Beaufighter (would be very nice to have)
No more US/German planes for a while. Except maybe the Ju-87 for scenario purposes.
-
I agreed, banana.
Ki-67 "Peggy" will be better than P1Y1.
-
Mitsu, its a toss up.
The Ki-67 Peggy has better defensive armament, while the P1Y "Frances" has better speed.
Together they compromise the two best bombers that Japan produced during the war (IMO).

Sorry Karnak. I always understood that the George WAS an IJA fighter. Wasn't it the N1K4-A that was the IJN variant?

P-38 w/bomb sight and 2K-LB bombs to drop.
-
Imperial Japanese Navy ordered all N1K series.
IJA didn't use IJN's any weapons, because both forces were almost on bad terms.
-
All the IJN/IJA listed in the first post
P-40B&N
P-39
P-38D & J
B-25 straffer nose,
Ju-88 (nose cannon version)
and at least one other kite from another country (aka, France, Finnish, etc). Would be cool to have a Swiss 109E too
-
A source of confusion is that the Niki is IJN, but it never was carrier-capable..purely land-based.

Japanese aircraft designation systems (http://www.csd.uwo.ca/~pettypi/elevon/gustin_military/japdes.html)

Gloster Meteor (perk)
Me410

I would add:
LVT
T-34/85
Beaufighter MkVI,21,TF MkX
Il-2 (buggered why this ISNT already modelled)
He-177
Me-410
G3m/G4m
A-20 Havoc
