Hello gents, I’m really getting miffed off with myself! I know it’s something small and stupid, but I can’t figure it out what I’m doing wrong. :furious
I open up Paint Shop Pro, Photoshop X2,
New,
1024x1024 pixels,
Raster Background,
Colour Index is 256,
Drop a few panel, rivet lines and colour to test.
I save my work as .BMP into the right folder.
Load up AH2 and my plane is invisible lol.
Any help? :pray

Is your skin an RGB bmp? If it is you need to switch it to indexed. That should solve all your problems.

How would I go about switching it to indexed?
Edit: I copied and pasted what I had into MS paint then saved my skin, it worked perfectly fine. in PSPPSX2 it doesn't have the save as .256BMP option, only save as .BMP, I'm guessing that's my problem ?

In GIMP, there is an option that may be tehre in PSPPSX2. See if there is an option tab labled "image" or something similiar. In that tab look for something labled "mode" or something similar. That "mode" (or something similar) button will open a menu with three options: Greyscale, Indexed, and RGB. Just click one.

Choppit, indexed should theoretically be 256 colors
Colour Index is 256
Right click on your bitmap and make sure it's 8 bit. If it's 32 bit, get as many colors as you can into it and then download this (http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/downloads/general/12/brighter-31/) program to convert it into 8 bit. In fact, I suggest you use the latter method anyway, you'll get better results. Brighter does great work.

Motherland, does brighter work with GIMP?

It won't work for me with GIMP-saved .bmps, but it will properly convert .tga's. I have no clue why...

GIMP/Bright combo works for me. Save as a .bmp and choose Flatten Image, not Merge Layers.

Bright will not work for me mate, the file is "missing" certian content lol.
