I am making a road trip up to Canada in about a month.  I think that I will be able to cross the border with my drivers liscense and birth certificate.  Anyhow I will cross over up at buffalo NY.  Should be an interesting trip.
Any places up there around where I will be crossing worth going to?

Getting in is not usually the issue, its getting back into the states that is usually more of a pain  :furious

Double check about ID requirements for crossing before you leave.  As of June 1st, ALL travellers require a passport to enter the U.S. This is about the third time they've pushed it back.

When you hit Buffalo, get onto the I-190... there's signs for the bridge right on it. I think it's exit 7.

As a side note to Treize.....Molson XXX? You actually like that tractor hydraulic fluid?

Very soon (if not already) a passport will be required to re-enter the US.  My uncle didn't take the new requirements seriously when he took a fishing trip into Canada a few years ago. When trying to return, since he didn't have his daughter's birth certificate, the border guards wouldn't let them back into the country.  They said he could, but she couldn't.  You can imagine how traumatic it was for a five year old.  It was at night and they were shining their flashlights at her.  She was paniced. screaming and crying.  They finally let them go when she was able to recite the address on her dad's drivers license.

Yea, them five year old kids are a serious threat for the U.S. Government.:rolleyes:

Never had anu problems getting into or back from Canada on numerous trips.

It WAS funny though...on the St. Stephen crossing point about 10 miles before---a sports car with "get High--smoke pot" bumperstickers all over it blew by me like I was sitting still.  When I got to the checkpoint, the crossing officers had already  sequestered the car and it's occupants and were pulling the interior out with crowbars. :rofl
