BTW, that's the kind sight you were talking about, right?

That's the one do i just copy and paste to the folder?

I don't think it will work as a "png" image. Save it as a bmp and drop it into the sites folder. Then, in the game select the plane, goto the site, hi-light the new site, then be sure to click the "apply to P38J" button.

:huh Interesting sight. What are all the "+" for? I would think the bottom square with the cross in it would be for bombing, but, what are the side "+" for? Just curious.

The Two +'s that are there are for Rockets. Use them as sights for your rockets. :salute

Pretty much, the reason it did not work for you is because the one you downloaded was probably white white, I know you can't really see the difference but the one i put there is sorta yellow. I modified that myself because all the ones I keeped finding on the web were white, and white does not work for AHII.

How to use the P-38 Gunstar Sight
The basics of it is simple:
1) It is for use in center fire planes, such as a P-38 (hence the name).
2) If the target is in the 'star' pattern, shoot!
3) The lower center box is for center bombs/rockets.
4) The '+' on the sides is for wing mounted bombs/rockets.

That sight is one step away from being a full blown HUD ! :rofl

It will work, but the black back ground will appear as white or see-though, I think.

Ok thanks.

:huh I can't get the darn thing to show up in the sights menu. I saved it as a .bmp file like all the rest of the sights, clicked and dragged, cut and pasted...tried everything. It just doesn't show up. Any ideas? Thanks. :huh

:huh Did your's show up in the sights menu before? And you just couldn't see the sight? Or did it not show up at all in the menu like mine. It acts like its not even in the sights folder. On another note, my sight in the folder is pink background and white "cross hairs and bars", no yellow in it. Maybe I got a bunk copy of the sight? :huh Oh well, shrew it.

You can't just copy the picture that is posted, the game won't recognize it so it won't put it in the list. You have to open it in paint, then save it as a .bmp file. It is a .png file as posted thats why you can't find it.

You can just save it from here as bmp

I did save it as a .bmp, it was originally a .png file. Either way, no biggie, got plenty of other useless sights to tinker with. Thanks anyways. Looks good though.
