WTG, You're one behind me. Got my first Hole-in one 23 years ago and another just 3 years ago. But let's be honest. The first hole in one was official and the second one I had no witnesses.

Awesome...congrats.  You are now in an elite club.

Closest I got was about 6 inches away about two years ago.

LoL did you wander around the green for like 10 minutes trying to figure out where your ball went before you finally looked in the cup?

Kind of sort of.  I knew once we crested the hill that it was in.  There was no other place it could have been.  If anything it would have been short (pin was in the front and I could see the back of the green).  I did wander to the far side to look in the rough with putter and wedge in hand.  I didn't go directly to the cup mostly because I knew it was in, and I was loving the anticipation of seeing it in there.  What an awesome feeling, I had been close so many times before.  Never thought I would get one.  Silly game.

That's awesome man good for you.  This thread makes me want to go play 9 today, but if I do I will just be that much more disappointed when I shank my drive on the par 3 7th.

I'm playing tomorrow in a father/son event.  Hopefully the karma from your hio will transfer.  :)

That would be awesome.  I have a 2 day tournament this weekend, it would have been nice to save that shot for the tourney.  I did have an Eagle in this tourney last year, but it was on a par 5.  Curval, are you the father or the son?

I am the dad.  It is a great little tournament...9 holes (so the little ones don't get bored) and the kids (age 4-9) tee off from the 150 yard markers on the par 4s and 5s.  It is captain's choice and for this one we have been allowed to bring a guest and their kid, so our team will consist of the 4 of us.

I've played the non guest ones before with my son and come tied for 3rd both times.  For some reason I have played very well in front of my little guy and he managed to make some clutch puts and one or two chips to keep us in the running.  :)

Great job , and congrats to ya . I have been within 2 or 3 inches more than a few times but never got the gold . Did you get a frame and a place for your score card to go on your wall . It is a momentous occasion to say the least .

My first hole in one came on a 187 yrd Par 3, left to right wind at about 5mph.  Real narrow due to trees.  This was last year.  My 2nd one, also last year, was on a 161 yrd Par 3, Up hill, over water.  I came real close to making a hole in one on a 311 yard dogleg right Par 4 last year as well...  You can't see the green from where the teebox is.  I usually either drive the green or get close, so I start looking around the green, in the bunker.  My partner pointed to a ball on the green that I thought was a leaf.  Sure enough, 3 feet from the pin was my Nike ONE Platinum with the red marker stripe :)

Congrats ODBAL!  Welcome to the club  :)

It transferred.

We shot a 32, par was 35.  Good enough for second place low gross score, which is weird.  Weird because the pro at my club is highly suspicious of my handicap, which he considers far too high.  He bases this on watching me hit balls on the practice range and from the last father/son when he and the golf director happened to show up and watch on one hole and I hit the flag from about 80 yards out...didn't drop though  :(  He came up and asked what my guest's handicap was before we started, looked up at me and said.."Yea, and yours is what...a nine?"  I laughed.

My son dropped a 25 foot putt for a bird, for which we all credit him for the trophy.

Great day.

 :aok

How'd you do?

NO hole in one though.  Not even close.
