Title: Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer?
Post by: dhaus on May 01, 2009, 04:33:17 PM
Thinking of getting out of onboard sound (realtek) and was looking at creative since I only knew sound blaster for sound cards.  Is the X-Fi Xtreme Gamer sound card (not the pro or titanium) worth it?  I'm running Vista 32 bit.  Have a Conroe E6550 core2duo, 2.3 ghz, 1333 fsb; 2gb ram, vid card is nvidia 8300gs (next on the upgrade trail along with a power supply).  Any other cards I ought to consider?  Budget of under $100.

It's the sound card I use and don't have any troubles at all with it.  Sounds are excellent in games, movies and music.  It's probably the better of the X-Fi cards.

I also use that card and never have had a problem with it. It sounds great.

I bought this one for my DELL, it works great. It beats onboard sound solutions by a country mile.

I picked the Titanium up for 100$ on Newegg and couldn't be happier, it's not the exact same model as yours but I have to assume they are close.

I have the Fatality Pro X-Fi Gamer running with XP.  It's a great card.
