Title: Officially retired today
Post by: jollyFE on May 01, 2009, 07:09:27 PM: Today was my official retirement date from the USAF. Went and got the new blue retired ID card today. Seems weird, 24 years flew by. I am lucky enough to have picked up a job doing the exact same thing that I did while I was on active duty, only difference is I wil be home more ( I'm sure the wife will grow to regret that).

I doubt the wife will regret you being home more. Mine retired about 4 years ago and it hasn't stopped being a joy to see him every day. :)

my son comes home from tech training at Keesler Thursday.
He is just starting his 6 years. He asked for Italy or Germany so they are stationing him at Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base Montgomery, Alabama :)

lol...sounds like the air force.........my last assignment I wanted Florida or Southeast...they gave me Northern California

If you thank your years in went fast... wait till you get out, 10 years ago I retired from the Army. It don't feel that long ago. :salute
