From a cultural point of view, I see absolutely nothing wrong with someone calling themselves Romanian-American (such as myself), or Polish-American or German-American
or Irish-American etc. Cultures like these are why America (The United States) exists today.. Cultures like these are what hold up America's values, standard of living, etc.. You'll see that many many people who are immigrants or 1st or 2nd generation immigrants are some of the most patriotic individuals in the country with family members serving in the military or being heavily involved in their communities(a trait that is carried over from most cultures such as the ones I mentioned above).
What I DO have a problem with is people use terms like Afro-American to signify division instead of attachment to African culture (which most "Afro" Americans truly have virtually no idea or knowledge of their African heritage, culture or history)..

The sad part as far as African Americans knowledge of their African heritage. Impossible for traced it when most of the blacks in this country ancestors where slaves and no recores where kept of where they are from. But there are other ppl who run into that problem too.

I agree wholeheartedly. I was born in America and proud to be an American.
