Hi Everyone, I am a noob @ aces high but not to the pc world. I am running a Amd 64X2@5200 processor with an asus m3n78vm with the most current bios. 4 gigs of kingston 800 memory and a bfg 9600gt oc video card. The psu is a 450 watt with 32 combined amps. Also running windows xp. You would think this machine would run anything I throw its way, however I am experiencing random freeze ups or lock ups during the game. Some times it will go for hours and some times just a short time before I have to hard boot my pc to un lock it. The only time this happens is during the game , everthing seems to work great. I am also running Direct x 9.0c. Any help or suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Thanks Rockethead

There are several post about AMD dual core processors having a bug which causes screen freezes and the clipboard map to spin. If you want to read more about it, just search the forums for AMD Dual.

There is a problem with dual core AMD CPU's in Windows XP Home and Professional which causes several problems in the game.
To work around the problem, do this.
1. Right-click on the Aces High II startup ICON.
2. Select "Properties" from the popup menu.
3. Select the "Compatibility" tab.
4. Check the check box to run the game in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode.

Yes, you'll have to limit the game to one core (Windows 98 compatibility mode) to run the game correctly on an AMD dual core processor.
