The Meteor..
-
Oh dear..............
-
It would kind of suck. I heard the Meteor only wnet about 350mph on the deck and becuase of its rarity it would be perked. A P51 could run it down so i doubt many people would fly it. Huge Hanger Queen.
-
Guns? 20mms? I'd fly it...

Dunno what numbers your've seen, but the Mk III that would be the one added did something like 440mph on the deck.

Ok. The person who told me must have been talking about an eirlier model.

Mk I did about 370-380mph on the deck as I recall.

Would be nice to see the metor in AH2, but it can wait.

Has anyone noticed there has been an influx of threads that have only one sentence stating the wish? How about a little help here Stephen. What information about speed, armament, production numbers, history, influence, and WW2 significance is contained in "The Meteor.."?
Now I want a business memo detailing the problem, the solution, background history, your reasons for proposing this change, and your sources correctly cited in MLA format.
This assignment is due Wednesday the 6th of May by 1:30 because at that moment I will pass my Technical Writing class and stop caring about what I just wrote. :P

Hallelujah!!.
I've noticed this for quite some time and agree totally. If the OP of a thread doesn't show some enthusiasm for something, why should I or the developers care?

'New Jet'
I thought the Meteor was rather old?
Bad wish.
-
I would support it's addition to AH. :aok
-
I agree as well. But the good chunk of Meteor time is post-war. Perhaps it is one of those aircraft that should be excluded from the usage rule.

I do agree that she kind of falls into that gray area at the end of the war. But still awesome! :rock

Flamers have very little to work with....hence the short post.
-
Prefer the HE 162. At least it saw some combat!
-
so did the meteor , mainly ground attack mind but combat none the less

:huh
-
Meteor saw far, far more combat than the He162 or the Ta152.

On 20 January 1945, four Meteors were moved to Melsbroek in Belgium. In March, the entire squadron was moved to Gilze-Rijen and, then in April, to Nijmegen. The Meteors flew armed reconnaissance and ground attack operations without encountering any German jet fighters. By late April, the squadron was based at Faßberg, Germany and suffered its first losses when two pilots collided in poor visibility. The war ended with the Meteors having destroyed 46 German aircraft through ground attack and having faced more problems through misidentification as the Me 262 by Allied aircraft and flak than from the Luftwaffe. To counter this, continental-based Meteors were given an all-white finish as a recognition aid.

I got to be good friends with a former RAF pilot who flew Meteors with 616 in the summer of 44 til the end of the war. They spent some of their time in the summer of 44 going around to USAAF bases helping them develop tactics to fight the 262. They did end up on the continent and he and his Squadron CO in early May brought the first 262s back from Fassberg. He had some interesting things to say comparing the two. I'll see if I can dig out the letter from those pre-E-mail days.
