ALi Raid manager...just what is it.  How does it work and is it any use to me?

controls multiable hard drives set up in a raid config ..Raid 0 ,  raid 1,raid 2 ect ...its what controls info taken an added into the drives ,how and when its done  .

I messed with it about 9 yrs ago ,,, I wasnt that impressed along with that mainboard which got junked soon after too.

I believe all of the ALi RAID controllers are integrated devices which makes them the extreme low end RAID devices (read JUNK). The best RAID to buy would be something as a PCI-express device with onboard memory and perhaps a battery for configuration recovery and velociraptor drives which altogether makes it a pricey investment and I am not sure AH needs that at all.
