I prefer the T-34 76/85 or the IS-2

Better take a public link for an image next time.
I think 99.9% of the UBB readers won't have access to your local harddisk.  ;)

Ya we have way to much US stuff in AH right now, lets fill in the stuff for some of the other countries before we do a Sherman.

I do think a Russian tank would be best, but we want an AA MG right?,so we better think of one that has one,the IS series did a nice 12.7mm one at that, the KV series did a 7.62mm if I am correct, but I do think that the T 34 series had one, I do hope I mistaken on this point.

The next tank added must be a sherman.  It would go so well with all those pursuit (P-...) planes for senerios, and would serve as a base for a bunch of varients and specialized tracks.

Brady
The 12.7 was common or universal on the IS2 but any form of AAMG was extremly rare on the T34 or Kv.
The only ones I have seen were german capuptured ones or field mods.
That being said I think its a toss up wich tank we get next. The T34/85 or the M4A3/75

The 12.7mm was NOT common on IS2s and its assault variants at all it only appeared in winter/spring 1945 and was mostly seen in the final drive on Germany. T34s never carried any AA MG to my knowlege. Though Schwere Panzer Abteilung  653 did have a neat captured T34 they modified with a 20mm Flakvierling mount instead of the normal T34 turret.   :)

BTW early KVs did mount a 7.62mm MG on the turret though this became very very rare as the war went on.

Woops I ment that the T 34, did not, have one ,typo  :)

I would love to see the T 34, but I do feal Pyro might be hesitant to add a tank that has no AA gun. This was probably the reasion the M8 was added over the Puma, the Puma is obviously a better AC than the M8 but the M8 has a 50cal AA gun, and as we all know GV's are easy meat in the MA as it is, imagine a tank without any AA defense. Despite the over abundance of US equipment in AH, I would have to say,If i were to bet on it the next tank would probably be US do simply to this fact alone (or another German tank, unless we get a JS series somthing).

A non perk series could include the current Panzer 4, the 75mm or 76 mm Sherman (open to debate, perhaps a light perk for the 76mm, perhaps not), and the T-34/76 with some adjustment for the lack of extra turrent crew or lacking an AA MG (to keep the playing field somewhat even). Beyond that -- Pershing, Panther, T-34/85, JS-2, Tiger I-II, etc. -- it's just a matter of assigning the proper number of perk points.

The US 76mm on the Sherman is not a perk worthy item, this gun is largely infererior in RL performanve to the 75mm we have on our PzIVH. This is pretty sad as it was developed late in the war and only entered service in time for the Normany Invasion.

In RL none of the single AA MG on any tank turret were of any use as defense against aircraft. IF AH models the AA MG correctly (they sure dont now) it wouldnt matter if its a 7.62mm or 50cal or anything as anything short of a 20mm cannon would be useless. The biggest mistake/ommision in AH regarding rooftop AA MG on tanks is the fact you cant kill the Commander while he is firing the gun. In RL any fool who actually did get out and fire on strafing aircraft would be killed either by direct hits or cannon shrapnel. RL AA MG were useless as defense anti-air weapons in WW2. Sorry it shouldnt (realistically) matter if it has such a weapon or not.

I cant really see any tanks or GVs perked, toejam anybody can just kill it with an IL2 or Yak9 or Hurri IID cannon run or anybody with bombs. The best thing would be some sort of spawn limit feature so everyone doesnt take the JS2s or Tigers or whatever and ignores other vehicles. Furthermore if some perk vehicles are modeled accuratly they will be useless in AH. One that comes to mind is the JS2. Its real life role was storming of infantry and PAK emplacments in the front, it was not an ideal anti-armor weapon. If its made very slow and very sluggish as in RL with slow reaload time due to heavy 2 part ammo and very cramped interior and the fact that it only had 28rds ammo adding the  terrible soviet optics. the JS2 will be no good for AH.

GRUNHERZ, is of course right. Hopefully the GV modeling and the would they live in will become a little more realistic. The trees that were added do not give cover from the air and make it harder for GV's to defend themselfs form the air, almost imposable to drive and shoot now without killing yourself on a shrub sized tree that in real life a panzer would run right over, vexing to say the least.
