I was thinking about some things I'd love to see in the new terrain. Just some thoughts...
1. Updated town buildings with period correctness.
2. Updated airfields-small airfields with dirt type strips, with make shift hangers- medium fields more advanded runways with metal mesh style strips-large fields lengthed runways to accommodate B-29s (hehe) and standard concrete/asphalt runways
3. Strat targets nestled in extra large cities. Adds a little more realism for the strat bombers.
4. River crossings with destructable bridges (perhaps a down time of 5-10min)
5. Sheep also accompanied by cows...and they splat when a tank rolls through them.

Well I bet after a Tiger hits a cow everyone will like the outcome.

This is AcesHigh.....
The Tiger would stop instantly, flip over, and its driver would whine on 200.

There are hundreds of examples of how AH2 could drastically expand the stategic factor with very minimal coding. Like I've said in other threads, I know the local community colleges or universities are packed full of programming students looking for internships (even a few named Monica, I bet). Why HTC doesnt use and abuse opportunity this I'll never know. So many things can be updated, added, improved, or otherwise tested. All the top secret data HTC has can be protected in numerous ways so the arguement of "hackers delight" or stolen codes doesnt stand, imo.
Adding in more rivers or creeks with bridges able to be destroyed between gv spawn points and the target bases is a perfect example. Cant get over that river with your tank? I guess LVT's just became that much more important. Having a bridge or 3 between the spawn points and the target base/town is an awesome idea and it very much broadens the strategic element. Perhaps a down time of 30 minutes WITH the ability to be repaired by field supps.
I really like the idea of making cities and other strat targets BIGGER, like triple or even quadruple the size. Also, make the building hardness random (or hard code set buildings) from, 100lbs to 560lbs. Also, add in more auto ack and maybe even a few manned guns are strat targets.
Manned guns on the trains? What about convoys with an auto AA gun on one of the trucks? That has to be really easy to code since it is already on the trains.
I'd like to see the whole troop situation varied as well. Perhaps a different amount of troops needed for different size bases, i.e, the larger the base the more troops needed? Maybe 10 for a veh base and small airfeild, 15 for a medium airfield, and maybe 20 for a large airfield. AND... change up the number of troops each troop carrying vehicle can carry based more on historical data. For instance, I'd like to see each troop carrier be able to carry more along the lines of what they could in the real deal. Granted, a full goon's worth of paras would be far more than needed, but why not? It would allow the paras to be a true concern once deployed, no more killing 1 troop and stopping the infantry problem. IIRC, the goon carried 22 paras (27 passenger capable), the M3 carried 12 infantry, the 251 carried 11 panzergrenadiers, the LVT2 was able to carry 24 marines, and the jeep carried 3 passengers. I think it would bring a whole new level of "oh sh*t, here they come" when a single LVT releases 24 marines or a goon drops 22 paras. A single defender would be busy and ammo for those hull mg's of a tank, wirby, etc, is now a problem.

I already offered something to that affect smokingloon.....was declined (politely).
