You need to make the "main" (the 1st page that users see) named index.html
Most web servers are set up to autodisplay index.html when a base URL is entered. (ie www.workforgrass.com) etc.
This CAN be changed by the host, but most do not want to take the time to do so for individual users.

As mentioned, the first page needs to be index.html or index.htm.
Also, most hosts no longer support FrontPage extensions. You can do all the basic html stuff but, if you are using FrontPage specific functionality, it won't work unless the host is set up for it. I can't remember what was specifically FrontPage and what may have been built in java, etc, but if you made links or buttons with special effects for mouseover, those may be included and cause pages to not work properly.

Yeah, sorry I couldn't get to you sooner about this...just need to plop a index.html or .htm file in the root directory.

I'm having trouble with frontpage also. I've got images which are shown correctly in the frontpage file, but when I upload them, the dimension of the image is the correct size, but just gets the big red X. I thought that just adding a hyperlink to another image folder within the same site would enable the photos, but nothing's working.

Bring up the site in a separate browser, right click on the red x and see where it's pointing. Be sure your image is there.
I've noticed I had to reinstall frontpage extensions a few times over the last couple years.
I've since switched to Adobe Dreamweaver. If you have the opportunity, I'd highly recommend converting to that. I had to switch since Frontpage ( or MS Expression, which actually replaced Frontpage a couple years ago ) isn't available for my MacBook, which is where I do all my web development now.

ok, so save the page on FrontPage as "index.html" from "Main Page.htm"

Correct
..also your main page is showing links to web pages in a "Web design 2 Folder " that's not present in you directory.

So, what do i have to do on that part.

Are you uploading via FTP or with the Frontpage Export Function? Usually Frontpage would have setup the default or index page for you.
If you want to use the Frontpage upload extensions, and used FTP before hand or anytime in between, you have to reinstall Frontpage extensions on the server. Beware if you have any shared borders, reinstalling the extensions will remove those borders. Big pain in the arse.

upload the 'Web design 2 Folder " in the main directory.

Actually, you can just remove Web design 2/ part of the hyperlink, the pages are already in the main directory.

As said earlier when possible make the change from Frontpage to Dreamweaver and you will save yourself a few headaches. I started out using Frontpage and it was great for throwing things together in a hurry but to get a little more detail I had to use something more robust...hence the change to Dreamweaver. Now Dreamweaver is cool for everything.

I've found that most hosts do support frontpage extensions here in the US.

Is it not considered bad form to use spaces in file names or paths? I thought that did "funky" things to most programs?
Also, Frontpage Express......how much different from the full blown FrontPage? And is there a way to get Dreamweaver free? Maybe 'lite" version?
