Hey everyone, :salute I've just been playing the last few days in the 2 week free trial. I'm wondering how everyone thinks this game stacks up against other MMOs too.
Over the years I've played:
Everquest - I didn't play very long, like a week.
World of Warcraft - Never did get past about level 40. I forgot my password about 2 years ago and have never bothered emailing Blizzard to recover it.
Eve - Played for a couple of months. The idea is quite good but I think the idea is better than the actual game.
World War Two Online Battleground Europe - Been playing for the last 4.5 years.
-
There are other online games?
For what?
:aok
Hope you have fun here. :salute
-
warbirds
ww2 online for 5 minutes
battlefield heroes for an hour
-
I tried LotR online. Loved their attention to the mythology, gameplay is pretty good as well, but I just couldn't really get into it.
-
None, unless you count a little dabbling in CFS and Il2 online.
I probably wouldn't even own a computer if it wasn't for flight simming.
-
Warbirds.
-
Not MMO but a lot of people play. Company of Heroes.

I actually played World of Warcraft for the arena tournaments!
I played the Paladin class, which was the worst class in game (at the time). I was actually the highest rated Paladin playing Paladin/Warlock/Priest, in 3v3, in S3, in the world!!!
I wanted to try live tournaments but one of my team members couldn’t commit and there’s no way I would bother playing with anyone else. Once everyone started playing my comp, the Paladin was quickly replaced with an OP healer like Druid/Shaman, so I quit. It didn't help that the game was so unbalanced either! Plus I couldn't be arsed spending half my life running instances to get competative loot! :furious

It takes a certain type of character to play this game, I see more taunting on this game then in Call of Duty 4 anyday :rock
-
Runescape (lol), MapleStory(due to the one in my avatar), EVE (quit), and Pirates of the Burning Sea.
EDIT: I suppose COD4 on the xBox counts.

I hate that game with a passion. Total rubbish it is :O

I was over at a friends house at about 3am after a night at the bar. He shows me CoD4 on xbox live...so I log on and start trying to kill things while the room's spinning. Within about five minutes I was getting ear raped by 12 year olds. I felt more than obliged to give it back AH style! :t :D

I will shank you.

I don't care to count how much money I've burned on online gaming over the past decade or so.
Lets see here...
Aces High 1 + 2
Star wars Galaxies
A Tale in the Desert I, II, III, and early IV. (Awsome game :aok)
Vanguard
LOTR Online
WoW
Warhammer Online (only very briefly)
Eve (briefly)
Navy Field
Not quite MMOs, but still multiplayer:
Starcraft
Counter-strike
Day of Defeat
COD, old school :aok
BF 1942 (still one of the most fun, especially 12v12 clan fights)
Freespace
Diablo series
Warcraft series (war 2 battle.net edition for the win :D)
A few others that I'm missing off the top of my head at the moment...
-
LoTRO (still playing - Lvl 60 Warden)
AoC (quit due to lack of content after hitting level cap)
EQ/EQ2 (no longer play)
OU (no longer play but still think it has best FFA PvP)
FFXI (no longer play, don't have time to spend hours looking for a group)
AH2 (no longer play)
WW2OL (no longer play)
Warhammer (quit after a couple of months, care bear game disguised as a PvP game)
and a crap load of F2P Asian MMO's
Tabula Rasa (was actually a decent game, unfortunately the powers that be couldn't decide what direction to take the game and it died)
Eagerly awaiting Jumpgate: Evolution, Fallen Earth and Earthrise.
ack-ack

AH2 (no longer play)
At least farticus still plays. :rofl

Just don't go there with me, arenas ruined the game and started all the imbalances. To get good loot in PvE nowadays it is so not even half your life (now), you can do with 5, 10 or 25 people in 30-60 minutes (half of them braindead and watching TV at the same time) today what a 5-6 hour 20 OR 40man raid (of skilled players who knew and understood their class) required back in the day. You can thank that to Blizzard arena-izing/tokening the raid dungeons and heroics.
I played WoW since it came out with a bunch of friends until about September of last year. At the end I had 3 lvl 70s and a couple lvl 60s that I didn't bother leveling up in the expansion. I was doing PvE end-game raiding on PvP servers. The first expansion didn't really improve my main classes (PvE raiding mage (leet glass-cannon that just kept getting balanced/nurfed) and a holy dwarf priest (shadow priest post-BC :furious , frigin' druids!)), and the second expansion didn't look like the developers were even listening to us before they did a bunch of stuff wrong.

No, only WaW :devil

Upgrade to WaW and move up to being ear raped by the 25-45 year old drunks that play at about 3am. The 12-yo Aussie squeekers are just too easy. :t

Ok I'll bite on this one.
AW then Gemstone 3 and 4. I swear they have better gameplay with zilch for graphics and all text than most of the RPG's I have played recently.
Tried Eve, wasn't long term impressed.
waiting for Star Trek Online.

I wonder if wearing a Red Shirt in STOL is going to reduce your stats?

RedShirt#6 is going to be the name of the character I'm going to use if I play that game.

No, only WaW :devil
Hilariously enough, a whole class of mine today got together on the subject that WaW isn't worth it.
-
Elder Scrolls 3 Morrowind for Xbox 1 only game that was fun for me.
