Henschel Hs 129 B2/Wa - The first dedicated anti-armor aircraft.
Hard as hell to fly, but I'd vote for the version with a 75mm Pak 40 slung under the nose (see picture). I'd even vote for it as an attack perk, though its vulnerability would probably result in its death a lot of the time, if its handling characteristics did not. They hung all sorts of crazy toejam off of it... and it looks mean!

That plane is actually lot smaller than you would think! It is roughly a long as Bf 109 but the wingspan is larger. The illusion is created by those radial engines which everybody automatically think are huge but in fact they are very small.

That thing would be just above a goon in the MA food chain. Might be interesting for scenarios.
-
what engine did the HE129 got ?
I've heard of Gnome-Rhone can someone confirm/infirm ?.
-
The HS-129B-2 had a Gnome-Rhone 14M 4/5 14-cylinder aircooled radial rated at 700HP for takeoff and 660HP at 13200ft.
This would be good cannon fodder for a La-5 or Yak-9...
I prefer the warthog.....
-
Yep straffo it used captured Gnome-Rhones.

Ya I say add it :)Much better choice than a JU 87 IMO, would be a great ground pounder and it was heavaly aromred.

If you can get one, buy Martin Pegg's book:

It is *very* interesting: great combat stories, profiles, data and pics. Looks like it was a good tank hunter in RL but here in the Main ... where an M3 can de-wing you with a short burst ... hmmm
-
Yeah, I think its vulnerability and size would be part of what would make it fun. You would need to get cover from teammates, but if they did their job well, you could wipe the floor with the GVs.

dbl post... i'm not a smart man, jenny.

It would be excellent for a Kursk scenario...
... as well as the Stuka, T-34 and Tu-2.
Hint, hint. ;)
-
Nah not a chance, that thing will be eaten alive by single AH roof mount GV "50cals'.....
