Title: Tempest Question

I am hoping some of the Wise here can help me with this.

I know that Hawker developed an annular radiator for the Sabre powered Tempests and that this was tested on prototypes in two configurations:

1) A conventional setup similar to the FW-190D and Ta-152.
2) A highly unusual setup where the air intake was ducted through the centre of an enlarged spinner.

Neither project made it to production. Does anyone have any more details on these? I am especially looking for pictures and performance data.

 Nice Tempest page!That plane really had a distinct engine sound.Looks mean too.
