I need help spec-ing a laptop for decent performance running Quicken Premier 2009. This machine is to be a dedicated Quicken workhorse: no MS Office apps, no web apps, no multimedia, no games.
The specs listed on the Intuit web page in the FAQ are incredibly minimal: Win XP, 400 MHz CPU, 512 MB RAM, 145 MB disk. I'd like to provide a laptop system spec that will give good, perhaps even bordering on snappy, performance. Even so, I need to avoid over-specing a machine that is not cost-effective.
Could someone please share their experience, or point me in the right direction?
Also, is Quicken Premier 2009 multi-threaded? I'd rather not spend money on extra CPU cores if the application can't use them.
Thanks! :salute

I haven't used quicken in a few years, but even then you really shouldn't be worrying about performance of the app unless you're trying to run it on a 10 year old PC. A $500 dual core laptop should run circles around the program and I doubt its multi-threaded.
