It was flippin' hot here yesterday. 83 or 84 I think. That's BS. I hate summer.
Time to start the A/C, and go sit in the house 'til fall comes back...

I'll trade your summer you don't want for my winter I don't want. You can have snow and cold all year, I'll take sunny and 85 twelve months of the year. Sound good? freak

55 and windy, looking like rain at 7200' .

I'm tempted, but no way in @#%$ I'd move to NY. Way too many people. I'm hoping to drag the family to MT, CO, or WY. Still too hot there, but not as humid.
I like the temp zone between 20 and 60. 65 I'm starting to get irritated. 75 is just plain ridiculous...

Always considered my self more of a Viking than Pacific Islander. That would be a Cowboy Viking! :rofl :rofl

What do you know, they made a website just for you :).

I want to end up in Montana myself, but more for the wide open spaces than the weather. If Montana had Mississippi basin weather, it'd be perfect. I love hot and humid weather, but I also like not having neighbors right on top of me and room to do what I want.

mID 70s here in Billings MONTANA. I LOVE it here no population problem and u can get away from work or whoever or what ever u want.

They still have no speed limits out there? (not that the roads are autobahn quality, but still...)
-
They do have speed limits now
-
Bummer. My dad said that was one of his favorite things about being stationed out there. (that and the fishing)
-
they got rid of the no speed limit about 8-9yrs ago. It was nice while it lasted turn a 6 hr trip to missoula into 4hrs. Missoula is about 340mi from Billings.

Just out of curiosity, you anywhere near the Little Bighorn battlefield where you are? Been thinking seriously about taking a seasonal job with the NPS out there for the summer next year just to get out of NY for a while.
-
I am indeed about 48mi from Hardin. They do the re enactments every year im not sure on the dates though. great trout fishing on the bighorn river if your into that as well. Also red lodge is a little tourist town 68mi W of here in the mountains.... look up BEARTOOTH HIGHWAY which is beautifull. I work for a car rental company in billings as well so if u need car arrangements...... give me a shout.
-
Would require me to take a leave of absence from the Department, but I am probably going to do it next year if theres an opening. Its a Cavalry thing (even though I'm a Custer Hater). :)
-
Yellowstone Park is 2-3hrs away as well.... as far as custers last stand ive never gone unless he wins...lol.

Yes it does, but thankfully I hide in West LA near Santa Monica in a building with industrial-sized air conditioning to shield me during the worst hours of the day five days outa the week. But it's not like my apartment is nice n' cool when I get home, it's on the top floor on the side of the building facing south. Gotta leave the windows (that I can without compromising security) open for my pet when I'm gone during the day.
Frigin hate this time of year. I'm always looking to the North though, it just gets prettier and cooler the further you go.
Edit: ok on second thought, it's not that bad, there's more half-naked women than you can count on your figners and toes looking in any single given direction this time of year.

Low 70's for the high, 40's at night this weekend in Bismarck, ND (Shout out to our neighbor SkottyK in MT). We get both extremes up here, can get into the hundreds in summer and way below zero in the winter.
Hey Treize69, don't forget to swing through here on your way to the Little Bighorn. Ft. Abraham Lincoln State Park (where the 7th Cav was stationed) is just south of Mandan, ND which is just across the Missouri River from Bismarck.

I actually lived/went to school in Missoula, and loved it there. I had no intentions of leaving. I came back this way as a TEMPORARY trip to snatch up my fiance' and return to Montana with her. So far, that TEMPORARY thing has stretched out over 15 years... I'm not happy about that.
We're driving out to Seattle this July, and I'm hoping she'll fall in love with the mountains while we're out there...

I'm actually hoping to swing through Pinedale in July. I've always wanted to see the museum there...

3 more inches of rain yesterday...1.5" today...so far, most rainfall for May in Arkansas on record.

We'll take some of that rain. Over a month without a drop. :(

Since I've gone back to uni I've been awfully slack with washing my car....
I washed it for the first time in months yesterday....
It pissed down with rain today.
So, the moral of the story is that if you want rain... wash your car.

In my case, its "If you want rain, plan on mowing your lawn." Whenever I have a day off and say "I'm going to camp to get the lawns mowed and some trees cut", it pours.

Very common mis-perception. There are many hundreds of square miles in NY with low population densities. Certainly not as low as Montana, but don't lump us all in with that awful place that is downstate :aok

Here in San Clemente it's high 70's and cloudless.Ocean water is about the same, surf is picking up a bit. The slogan around here is "Best Climate in the World", trust me...... the slogan is truthful
