Have been asking for this for years.  Would love to see the turn rate on it, the Fairey Youngman flaps should out hover the hover flaps on the F4U.

That one would work for Korea.  Not the WW2 Firefly though.  Not nearly as nice a looking bird

I know, just wanted a photo of the flaps, couldn't find a better one.  There is a good b&w one of the underside of a Firefly coming into land with flaps extended, couldn't find it tho.

Edit: Just found it :D

Wonder if they could be set into the dive position like on the Barracuda?

Nope, there were four positions, fully up, cruising position, take off and land.

Hi Wmaker, thanks!  Where did you find out about the flaps?  Have had a hard time finding info on them.

Ive been screaming for this airplane for the longest.

Of 3 major CV powers in WW-ll Britain is only represented by one CV airplane.

It was mentioned in Squadron & Signals Fairey Firefly in Action (No.200)...got couple of scans from it.
