6 inches of rain today alone. We've dodged 3 tornadoes and a possible fourth building. More rain in the forecast...of course. Anyone in MO or AR probably feels my pain. This weird bellybutton weather system working from the SE heading NW. Oh well. We'll see how it goes through the night.

-
excuse me...Arkansas :D Never fails..I always do that

Raining here in NC too, heard it was raining in PA as well. Seems rain is everywhere today. :)
Also, how does a state "dodge" a tornado? :P
-
By "we dodged tornadoes" I meant myself and three buddies who were out riding around when the first one came through :aok :)

Take one from LOST, just take the state and move it somewhere else :aok

Dude, 6" is a lot of rain!

The bad news, Shuffler, is that you get it in 6 minutes, I've been through those Texas thunder storms. My father was stationed in Ft. Hood twice and I graduated HS in Killeen. Even saw it snow once while we lived there.

A while back we had 42" in 3 days. Now that is a frog choker (aka turd floater).

It's a weather pattern for the summer related to the jet stream.
Normal:
Current:
If you look at the normal pattern the jet normally dips own thru TX and flows up toward IL then dips again and flows up to the North East
The jet stream steers the weather (wx). If you look the current the summer jet is way North allowing the low (L) too push into the Mid South, bringing Gulf moisture. An old rule of thumb. Winter Jet is normally to the north and the Summer Jet normally dips way south. The current jet you might see in January....
Global cooling? :)

It's become very frequent for us to see 4" or more in one day this year. Last year, though, I don't ever recall getting a rain of more than 3".
-
Very wet holiday weekend here in south Alabama too. 3 days off and nothing to do but stay inside and watch it come down in buckets.
-
Why wont it rain up here more! I have terrible allergies, and I want it to rain!!!!!
-
Had fairly decent weather here in South Carolina the last week or two. Light drizzle off and on, no real knock down drag out storms.....On the negative side it stays humid as all get out. I'm a bit "warm centric" (put me in sub 60F and I'm golden, above that, I tend to not go outside much). I can walk outside right now, sit on the sidewalk, and probably be dripping with sweat in 10 minutes. One of these days, if I didn't like the southern winter/fall so much, I'd like to get the F outta here. Head on up to a much more northerly state with lots and lots of snow :)

Another inch just fell a few minutes ago :(
-
Yeah, piss weather MD also. rain, rain go away. Crazy wants to play.
-
I did get a chance to put in 9 holes in the rain...shot 2 over :furious
-
Its been warm and sunny here last few days. Jet stream is far enough south thats its keeping that bad weather away from us.
Of course, I work midnights, so I've been sleeping while its been warm and sunny... :cry

6 inches of rain today alone. . . . Anyone in MO or AR probably feels my pain.
And southern IL.
Just checked the website for the weather station closest to where I live. 6.84 inches of rain today (and still rain in the area). It is a very strange weather system -- it is either raining cats and dogs, or nothing.
To put the 6.8 inches of rain in less than 24 hours in perspective -- the average rainfall for the month of May is about 4 inches.

You shot a 74?
I looked north and saw a big pop-up exploding. You get slammed again this afternoon with rain?
-
Only played the back nine and shot a 37. And yeah..we got blasted...again. Only about 1/2" - 1" of rain today. Got caught in our cart shed when an even bigger system hit the golf course than what hit the house.
(Golf course is in Dyersburg...I actually live in Lauderdale county, but close to the Dyer/Lauderdale line. Dyersburg is just the nearest "city")
May I add that the Front 9 was closed due to one of the larger ponds flooding the fairways and a green
