Holy crap that is some good vodka.
Never been a fan of vodka as i normally am a scotch drinker or gin if im mixing, but this one something else.
Anyone else a fan of that brand?
-
I've never had the pleasure of Stoli gold....
However.... this is the nicest stuff I have ever tasted:
I'm the same as you Nils, normally a Scotch drinker.... but Żubrówka is just.... vodka sex in a bottle.
Stick it in the freezer for a few days.... pour it in a small, thick glass.... let it sit for a few minutes... and just breathe it in before you drink it.
It smells like a freshly cut field of spring-rain wet grass. That sounds stupid, but it's entirely true.
Don't mix it... just drink it like a Scotch. Let it sit and open up on your tongue.
Phwoah... heaven.

How 'bout you send me a bottle and I'll let you know? Hey, it's worth a try. :pray

Hahaha. You'd probably be better off asking people that aren't on the other side of the planet, mate. :aok :lol

I thought stoli was a fairly big brand over in the states. During the cold war alot of it went over from russia in exchange for Pepsi. Stoli has an interesting story if you look at wikipdeia.

The best vodka in the world comes from Texas...... yup you read it right.

Sorry Nils. I prefer Wyborowa or Chopin. A good vodka is colorless and odorless......NO FRUITY JUNK! Being a vodka drinker, I've had my share of many kinds from Rye, Wheat, Potato, and a mixed blend. Some are naturally sweet and great for mixing drinks. Others are best served chilled and straight up.
In the US, the growing fad is Croc and Grey Goose. Most bar vodka is Smirnoff or Skyy. IMHO, Skyy is not a bad vodka but it's because of the filtration and not this distillation process that makes it an OK vodka.
I suggest you try the Chopin and tell me what you think. Here's an old article I found about vodka: http://www.slate.com/id/2106004 (http://www.slate.com/id/2106004)

Stoli is colorless and oderless. No fruity junk. Its one of the purest around.

Don't get me wrong. I think Stoli is an excellent vodka. It's a wheat vodka. Trust me when I say try the Chopin (or Belvedere for that matter). You won't be disappointed.
-
Dont think i can get that over here without a specal order obie. Cant say ive seen it.
-
Stolichnaya could be considered as ok/good except being Russian give it an automatic 90% malus.
So it's likely to taste and smell lake a Septic tank :p wich make it better than Absolut Vodka.
Wyborowa ,Belvedere ,Żubrówka and grey goose are my choice

Not to be rude but titos is only distilled in Texas, they bring in all the materials from out of state. I was pooped when i heard it too, this is a vodka that actually made from scratch in Dripping Springs, Texas. http://www.drippingspringsvodka.com/
I use to drink titos a while back but now im stuck on Russian Standard. http://www.russianstandardvodka.com/#/en/

Ahhh Stoli... my dear dear friend!
Stoli has been my goto vodka for years. Makes for a fantastic drink :aok
I've never tried stoli gold... but we have it here. I'll pick some up next time :rock

Belvedere is the best I've had so far. Stoli is excellent though.

Its very close to the regular stoli in flavor. Regular has 38% vs 40% alcohol in Gold. May be other differences too, but not much in taste :)

For me the best is Krolewska Wodka.
A triple-distilled rye vodka from Poland, Krolewska is highly refined and filtered and comes in a beautiful bottle featuring a stained-glass window from the Mariachi church in Krakow.

Holy Jesus... that looks amazing.

I'll be in Poland the middle of June. Any recommendations for a good Polish vodka?
-
Nice Kazan! Wyborowa had a really nice picture of a knight on a horse (in a stain glass pattern) when it was first introduced. They have since changed their bottle design. I'll definitely look up the Krolewska (my grandfather was from Krakow).

What the heck does Coog03 know? He is just a child.
Listen to me. Listen to my name. :rock

If your in-laws gave that to you...... you might want to see your girl without makeup before getting hitched. Just a thought. :P

interestingly enough you'll find that most popular vodkas in bars are finland and bols (dutch).
Stuff made for export is generally much better quality then local.

One of the best Polish Vodka's I've had is Luksusowa
(http://www.beveragewarehouse.com/images/products/1507.jpg)
It is a triple distilled potato vodka that i have found to be very smooth. Many lower-end domestic Polish vodkas are corn based, and not as good. But there are tons of excellent Polish Vodkas out there :rock
You can find Luksusowa state side and it is amazingly affordable for how good it is. I'm serious... it is REALLY good. Don't let the $20/liter price fool you.
