In all aircraft and the PT boat I use my CH throttle for throttle control. However in a Panzer, Ostwind etc. I have to use the joystick "elevator" axis to control the throttle. Is it possible to map it to the correct throttle axis. I have looked all over the setups but can't find a way.

Hey Zeb,
I'm with you 100% on this one and questioned it when vehicles were 1st introduced. Ideally I think the throttle should ...well control the throttle (Duh) and rudder the steering. then if you switch to a gunner position you could use the x & y Axis to control the gun as normal but keep full control of the vehicle with the throttle & Rudder. It woould make M16's etc much more usable because you could both start & stop while (As well as steer) while tracking a target.

Great idea!!!
I tried once to change the axis on the Saitek x36 combo, but it did not work. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif)

The moment PT boats were introduced and we had to use the throttle for the engine, I thought 'Why can't the vehicles have this?'
Perhaps it will be introduced along with the new work on the vehicle damage model?

here's another vote for vehicle throttle using the throttle (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

As someone who has only very recently come into the game, I found this difference very confusing! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/confused.gif) I have a full CH set up of Pro-throttle, FFX Joystick and Pro-pedals - it seems really odd to have to use the joystick as a throttle! Add me to the list supporting the use of a throttle as a throttle! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Does the fact that ground vehicles have multiple gears affect this? I mean in a PT boat you only have forward and neutral right? So I guess we would need a clutch button now to so that we could change gears in our panzer or m16.

I agree with Zeb. Make the "throttle" a "throttle". (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Yes, PLEASE (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
It is very annoying to have to keep jumping to the driver position every time you need to change speed or stop. This is especially true if enemy planes or tanks are shooting at you.
Most annoying in Panzer as when you switch to driver position, your zoom and targets ususlly get messed up in the gun sight.
When I take an M3, I try to hang on the heels of an Ostwind, but it is next to impossible to speed match and man the .50 so I end up weaving back and forth to try to maintain position.

Welcome to AH Flossy!
Good to have another Brit on board. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Where are you from?

Mrs. Flossy and myself are in the Lake District (Cumbria). I came from AW which I flew for a good number of years and Flossy still flies there. Flossy is short for Flos which is short for Florence. An explanation of her and my name is here http://www.zeb.clara.net/intro.html (http://www.zeb.clara.net/intro.html) and http://www.flos.clara.co.uk/airwar.html (http://www.flos.clara.co.uk/airwar.html)
