Title: Crossovers
Post by: Saxman on May 31, 2009, 05:06:50 PM
I had a random thought today. Does anyone remember the ABC comedies of the late-80s and early-90s? It seems that their entire comedy lineup crossed over with itself at some point. Family Matters was a spinoff of Perfect Strangers. Steve Urkle made a guest appearance on Full House. Michelle, Uncle Jesse and several minor Full House characters showed up in an episode of Hangin' with Mr. Cooper.

Just an odd thought about TV past, making me feel old now, too.

I'm partial to the episode of Freakazoid where him, The Brain and I think Buster Bunny all went to Steven Spielbergs office to to ask him which (Freakazoid, Animaniacs or Tiny Toons) was his favorite. He had no idea who any of them were. :)

I believe it was because they were all part of ABC's TGIF line up.

IIRC, Full House aired on Tuesdays for most of its history. Perfect Strangers started on TGIF, but I think it later moved to Wednesdays.

Man, I miss those shows. Freakazoid! The Tick, Tiny Toons, Animaniacs. The crap everyone makes now just doesn't stack up.

I'm almost positive that Full House aired on Fridays.

I just looked it up, it started on Fridays, then moved to Tuesday.

Like the "Cosby Show" and "A Different World"

"Heathcliff" & "Garfield"  -  I'm not sure if this was an exact spin off.  However, they did have similarities.  Although, Heathcliff's mouth moved and was a junkyard cat.

Heathcliff, Tranformers, HeMan, Thundercats, & Silver Hawk were my favs as a kid.
