We recently had a topic asking what your worst most stoopidest demoralizing moments were in-game.
I want to see the flipside: When did the stars align for you? When did you really bring your A-game? (or just get freeki'n lucky...)

Best moments:
800 yard 30mm hit on a Pony that just kept running.
I had my tracers off and was only snapping one round off at a time... He stopped evading at 800 yards, thinking he was safe. Plink, tail section fell off. Ha.
I didn't just lol at that, I really LOL'd. Haha.
Good snapshots with 30mm are always bright moments.
Victories in Many v 1 situations... love them when I get them.
And my all time best reversal was one that I didn't get on film.... La7 dropped in.... I scrubbed just enough speed and pulled something like a full-rudder outside barrel roll... he sailed past and pulled up and across to my right. WEP on, nose up and snapshot.
Boom.
It was perfect, if I do say so myself.

Was fighting the guy above. It was my first real 1v1 that lasted more than a couple of merges. from that fight I started to understand things my trainer had been telling me and slowly but surly started to fear better in the MA.

When I landed 6 kills in a Zeke w/ pilot wound, fuel leak and missing parts followed by a chance sighting of the nme CV (unharmed) while at 15K in Lancs, I dropped eggs while in level flight (all 14 thousand pounders) with hope and a prayer...BOOM. Scratch one nme CV :O

Yesterday, not my greatest moment but sweet and satisfying none the less. I was in a Ki-84 with 3 kills. My ride was beat up pretty bad including a missing aeleron. I found a good opportunity to safely escape to rtb (or so I thought). A P-38 decided he didn't want me to leave. He would get to about 1.5k off my 6 and I would be forced to engage. This happened twice and both times I got the advantage but never enough to get the kill, just enough to turn the tables except that I couldn't gain on him and he kept running toward ack and I would try to rtb again. The third time I figured something had to give or I was never going to get back to base. This time I ran for the hills, crested the hill and pulled the hardest left low yoyo I could with a missing aeleron. Because he couldn't see me he continued on a straight path and the next time (and last time) he saw me I was 400 off of his 3. Then I limped my 4 kills home and quit for the night.
Then there was the 109 that kept trying to pick my Ki. I finally got on equal e-terms and he decided to climb away. He did this continually always refusing to engage. I got tired of it and decided to match his climb. He just kept going and going and going. What he didn't realize was that I had a full tank of gas, the Ki-84 can fly for 2 weeks on a full tank. He got up to 30k (where a Ki has no business at all, but he still wouldn't engage) and he kept going and going and I kept following and following until he finally ran out of gas. Again, not a spectacular moment or even a skillful one but satisfying.
Anytime someone complains about being dead on 200. No need for me to comment, afterall I'm busy flying and fighting, not in the tower whining on 200.
Sure, I have the 1v3 victories and the hero moments but, to me, nothing is more satisfying than destroying that guy that just wants to be a thorn in my side.

Recently I downed a T34 from 6.2K away in my panzer. Took FOREVER! I counted 10 successful hits and nearly as many pings on that sucker. How come when I am in a T34 it goes down like old Christmas lights in a flash! :salute to fuzeman who was my adversary, he spittled all around me but never scratched the point. Don't know if its my best but its was noteworthy just the same.

The Pigs lost a member last year (Salute Potzie). It was unbelievable to see all the Pigs arrayed on the field and in the Air to pay our respects to a fallen virtual brother. Best Moment? As good as it gets. :aok

I did the exact same thing last night on a Pony, 800 out and boom I was shocked when it happen. He was running back to his base and I just sent a burst over his way and got the lucky hit.

Way back when I first started playing in late 2004, we had the big map with the 10K base right in the center. Can't remember what map that was but this one particular morning the Bish had the 10K base. I was flying Knights as always since I was in JG-44. Anyway it was early on a Sunday morning, no one from my squad was online and I was bored so I took an M3 from our nearest base (over 35K away) and started driving up that damn hill. Over an hour later I'm almost to the top, having driven around the long way to come up on the town on the far side of the base. As soon as the town started flashing I backed up till it quit, around 3K away maybe. I could see the town from the trees I was hiding in. Luckily for me there are no spawn points to that base so any of the Bish that were taking off weren't looking towards the ground around their base to see if any GV's were around. :devil
Well about that time a few on my squadies got online. I told them my situation and they immediately enlisted the help of a few other Knights and upped a mission to take the town down. I waited for about 30 minutes and all of a sudden this massive 110 raid comes in and starts leveling the town. P-51's are escorting them and the Bish are upping like someone kicked over a hornets nest (no pun intended :D ). Well in a matter of minutes the town is flat, the Bish are upping fighters like crazy and flying off to the south looking for a goon, the rest of them that aren't looking for a goon are engaging the Knights who are dragging them off to the east away from me.
I saw my chance to make my run so I fired up the engine, put her in gear, and rolled into the middle of the town, did a quick check to make sure everything was flat, and let my troops go. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 go in........BOOM!!!!! goes the map room, and then the crying and cheater screams started!!!!!! :rofl :rofl :rofl
Ended up being a 3 hour mission for me, but being able to sneak that base with an M3 was the all time high for me. :aok

To me nothing beats wading into the pack with some squaddies, outnumbered, outgunned and somehow coming out the other side battered, beaten, leaking oil, but still flying and making it back home.

Chased an La-7 with a Yak-9T while he was on the deck running home. He figured he was safe being 1.5 in front. A direct hit with the second round. Boom.

Frame 3 of the Bougainville FSO:
VMF-251 was assigned with two other squadrons to escort a flight of B-24s in a deep penetration raid on northern Bouganiville. We were in F4U-1s, rather than our usual 1As that frame, with 12 pilots.
En route to target we received sporadic reports of bogies in the area by one of the lead sweeping elements of our formation. We sighted about half a dozen dots low and off to the left, which we turned to investigate. Very quickly we identified them as Zeros, heading away from us and showing no sign of having seen us. I immediately ordered the attack, and VMF-251 rolled in.

The enemy never had a chance to react as we tore into them. A Zero fell to my guns, and another was flamed by Flyboy before they could respond.

Within less than three minutes the fight was over and we began climbing back to altitude.
Later we engaged in a brawl on the deck with two or three more squadrons of Zeros, preventing them from locating our bombers which completed their run without losing a single aircraft to enemy fighters. We claimed 20 enemy aircraft overall, with four of us bringing home multiple victories. I tied the squadron record for sorties in a mission with eight scalps.
As for a solo sortie, I'd have to say going by recent events would be the fight I posted last week. A Spit XIV and 109K-4 were trying to chase down my F4U-4 while I was RTB low on gas. I finally turned to engage when I realized they were going to follow me ALL the way back to base after dragging them down into the canyons (it was the map I think with the TT enclosed within the mountains) I took them both down in a short looping fight.

Taking out an IL2 with the main gun on a Sherman, the IL was crossing 90 degrees approximately 1k out.

Me and a Squadie Wil3ur were flying a fighter sweep in la-7s. We came across a group of 6 planes,a mixed bag 3 51s a
ki-84 a niki and a f4u. We have a 2k or so alt advantage. Wil3ur has lead I follow about 700 off his six as he dives
in on a 51. He kills the 51. I only see the f4u in front of me now and look back and see that the other 2 51s and 2 jap
planes are behind me ranging from about 400 to 1000ft. I do 2 of the best barrel rolls I have ever pulled ending up
about 100 ft off the ground. In this process a 51 and the ki-84 try to match these rolls and auger leaving a
51 about 400 off my six. I chop the throttle and go hard on rudder he blows past. I then throw the throttle full and wep
he starts to stick stir for some reason. I catch him and pull into a firing solution and blow his wing off. The niki starts
to fire at me now and I think Iam toast but in swoops wilbur having killed the f4u, the niki breaks off Wilbur blows past.
The niki is on the deck trying to run back to some friends chase him down i put 4 20mm round into him, he explodes my 4th victory.
Wil3ur and I return to base 6 planes to our credit. That's the best sortie I have had so far.

Returing from afk to find BBAW bouncing me from on high. Before I could reach the stick he rams me and he is fatally damaged in the process. I sit down with my reheated pizza and continue munching as my plane flies on, undamaged. :aok

I had one last night! Everything was down at a Knights airfield with a huge horde above it (I believe it was A41 ) so I thought I would use a field gun, nope those are gone too. Well there is a single shore battery available. I wonder if it can hit the middle of the runway on the airfield where all those vulchers are circling and running back and forth low. Yes it Can!!! LOL I nailed two vulchers last night by shooting the runway underneath them with the shore battery. BOOOOOOOOM! :rofl

The NS-37 shoots out to 1.5k. I've managed to bag a 110 at about 1.1k with it, a small target like an LA at 1.5 is a tough target and a LOT of luck comes into the equation, but it is possible.

My best moments are usually the nail biters where I'm out numbered and somehow surviving . I know I'm just playing a game but sometimes my heart starts racing and I begin to get nervous when trying my best to out maneuver more than one con.
I don't film often but this one I caught. More often than not I find myself in these types of situations, mostly because I don't try flying smart until it's too late. I usually fly past everyone else to meet the incoming bandits or help the lone dot way up ahead. Before I know it I'm swarmed and desperately looking for help.
Whats amazing sometimes is how many kills I can get when under that kind of pressure. I hardly ever land and normally fight till dead. I seem to find my best fights that way.
My spit held up in this engagement mostly because my attackers were wildly spraying it with 50 cal rounds in an attempt to kill me. I don't think I could have taken much more but if my engine could have only held up, I'm sure I could have killed them all.

I'm in an A-20 of all things puttering home at 800 feet on one engine, still in enema territory. I have killed 3x109s, fuel reads 32 minutes, the ammo counter reads 159.
Coast is clear when suddenly a friendly P51 piloted by Katfish screams toward me crossing under my flight path. He is dragging 2 cons directly under me, 400-600 off his 6. A 51D and a Spit 16. Naturally I want nothing to do with this and start wishing for the cloaking device upgrade, BUT I am in decent attack position thanks to the drag and why not, when Katfish gets blown up in about 2 seconds they will just come for me . I figure if I'm lucky I can take one out and when Katfish dies I'll be left with a 1v1 instead of the 2v1. I select the 16 (preferring to turn fight the 51) and cut the angle, my crossing snapshot misses and he peels off for me. Now I've done it. Instead of continuing his turn he attempts a reversal to force the overshoot, he uses minimal vertical. I already had flaps out (and lacked the engine power for the overshoot anyway) Slowly I win angles in a low scissors and put a single burst in his left wing. I recover the stall at <100 feet and check ammo. 132. I locate Katfish and his pursuit 5.0 out just in time to see the enemy 51 explode. I congrat Katfish and <S> the conquered before landing my 4 kills. Much fun :rock

Landing multiples in a Kate.
Pacific setup in AvA, some newb to bombing asked me to show him how to dive bomb and so we went out a few times in Kates and Vals. We acquired a target, a field, and discussed the mechanics, flaps, speed, the sight, when to release, etc. Anyways, we approached and there was some fighting over the field, I explained Kate's unescorted were just dead anyways, and in we went. In dropping, I noticed I got a kill so there must have been a GV in there somewhere. I'm pulling up and Mr. Newly flight trained is scooting around saying "cool, look at the smoke and flames this is soooo cool . . ." and trying to figure out if he's dropped his bombs or not? Cries of "Dead, you Kates are dead" come overthe radio. The newly minted Kate driver wants to know what next and he's hovering too close to danger.
Technically, just the newb is dead, I pulled out, but I thought about it, and went back in, buzzing the upping F4Fs, I got a couple to crash, then I slowed down, flew along the line of the field, about 3-5 feet off the deck, and jumped into the gunner's pos as I hit the end and yes, yes, yes:
They were upping just as I started OT cross the go line. To think I flushed all these films.
So I sprayed them thinking I'd scare them (those F4Fs being too much for a Japanese 7.7mm anyway a shard experience had taught me), I figured "well, this will throw them off and buy the greenie some time to run" but no, I killed them. All of them. And then the new guy was REALLY hooked. And I was laughing and they were crying foul "you can't vultch in AvA it's disgusting . . ."
I pointed out that this was true, but we were, after all, in Kate's and one of us was new and . . . They would not re-up with those nasty bomber boys still in the area.
My new bud wanted to go again RIGHT NOW!!!! And I told him "Take a Val, you can dogfight in those!
Well, who really cares about my rationalization? I landed multiples in a Kate, sure I had my reasons for my egregious behavior, but it was simply hilarious and fun and what beats that? I'll never shake the image of the tail and rear gunsight of the Kate, the palm trees lining the field, the F4Fs coming out in a hive of angry activity looking to punch someone in the nose for daring to bring a Kate out . . . and the enmity, the pure, raw, indignant fury of someone not only vultched, but killed by a lowly Katherine.

Among many of my duels this one stands out as one of the best to me:
1v1 with stang he was rook, me bish. We rolled in MA between 2 fields in TA-152's, don't ask me how he got me in that contraption some people call a plane ;), and went at it for about 3 minutes, with no real progress being made. Then 3 smart nits decide they wanna jump in, so we break off the fight shoot all 3 down :rofl, then continue the duel for another 5 minutes, with each getting some good 20 mil. hits on the other. He ended up getting a nice snapshot on me and finishing me off. We we're both cracking up after the fight. That fight was a blast, and is, what i consider, one of my best moments in AH. :D :aok

Well if you mean best as in your greatest moment where you did something incredible or remotly heroic then mine was this. When I helped a newb with a beach landing, I posted it in the whole newb dising post where that one guy (again can't remember your name, sorry bout that.....again) said newbs should have a special indicator, or if there was one where he actually dissed newbs then it was that one, well any way... A newb got blown out of the water in an LVT by shore fire, and I saw him re-up and head for the beach firing away at the fighters then his .50 ran dry or got damaged and he hopped to the .30 and I told him to zig-zag to throw off the shore gunners aim. (re-up? I don't know what to call it)
If you mean best as in incredible, made me happiest, or even the one that stands out most then... It was the time when I was flying a bomber and I had a fighter or two on my tail and I had to get to the closest base which ord and fighter hangers were down and one bomber hanger was left and I had to come in hot, just slow enough to lower gear and when I landed I made a 100 degree turn at the end of the runway JUST before going off WHILE those fighters were making a pass at me as I landed.
Those are the only two that really stick out in my mind. Not a LOT happens to me but around 1 out of 3 things that does happen is INCREDIBLE!

Ive not been able to fly because im still in the states on business, but I was in the DA with 4 guys on my 6, I had more E than them, I dived down to pick up some more speed, and then pulled her up in the vertical...they all followed me, one by one stalling out, I turn her over and come stright down loling to myself as its my fav manover :D , I shot down one of them which irrc was zero..however they did all get the better of me and shoot me down..but I just love the vertical :D
