Damage to the left cannon takes out the centre cannon as well................
This may be deliberate.
In which case please move this to the wish list where I would wish that the La7 damage list include the centre cannon (appropriately modelled) and just not use it (the centre cannon) when the twin cannon option is chosen.

yeah i noticed that too...

They're almost on top of each other. The "center" isn't really center. It's off-center, on the side literally right next to the other gun. Most likely deliberately modeled that way.
-
If so it should happen in a lot of other planes where the gun a close to each other like the 38 but it's not the case.
-
What I fear is that the La7 & La5 damage models are the exact same models.............. such that there is no centre/offset central left cannon.
Such that x units of damage to the left cannon triggers its loss but on the La7 (3 x B20) those same x units trigger the loss of two cannons.
In which case it would not be a bug but instead a DM "characturistic".
If however it was HTC's intent to individually model gun/cannon damage then it's a bug.
If it is a "characturistic" then it would be neat (IMHO) if the DM for both the La7 & La5 included 3 cannons and the central one was simply ignored thru COAD on the two cannon versions.
Oh and whilst we are on the subject of La7 cannons can we render the muzzles sticking out the cowl invisible or something?
-
Sometimes guns are modeled in "packages" so to speak -- B-25 cheek guns lose both guns in the 2-gun pack if I recall.
Unless somebody at HTC chimes in, we might not find out if it's an oversight/bug or a feature.
