I haven't played in a while as my computer, for some reason, restarts every time I click on the AH2 icon on my desktop, I have tried gettig rid of it and re-downloading AH2, I have checked all the components of my computer that are needed for AH2, but I can't find any problem nor can any of the geeksquad guys, or any of the tech-guys, and I don't want to shell out the couple hundred for a new one. Well any way, do we have night and day, rain, storms, weather, etc.? Just a simple answer will do, no need to make a discussion out of it.

Suggest you check the "tecnical support" forum under Help and SUpport Forums.
If you can't find an answer from someone there suggestr you shoot skuzzy an email at
skuzzy@hitechcreations.com

Have you tried right-clicking the AH2 icon and running from there? Try going to Start, Programs, Aces High 2, and see if you can launch the game without causing your computer to restart.

Huummm...., good idea plazus, I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the idea I will try it and if I can't then I will get a new computer as soon as my priorities allow me. <S> Plazus

No prob sir. I havent heard of any problems like this before, so that was the only solution I could think of. Hope it works! :salute

Why does everyone call me sir, I'm not an officer or a mid-evil knight...am I? As far as I know I'm just a damn non-com in this game.
-
All out of pure respect and common coureousy.
-
Why thank you Plazus, I am flatered :o. While I admit I am no newb, I am not an expert or anything, the only thing I have any REAL expirence in is bombers and main P' series(P51, P47, P38[although this is less then most the planes I am educated about through expirence] and the P39 to slightly lesser extent but still slightly more than the P38. I would be beat red if I heard 999000 say that it was out of politness AND respect. :D

Are you using Vista? IIRC Vista can have problems like this?
Check the tech support part of the BBS for Vista users or contact Skuzzy as someone has already stated.
-
No I do not use vista. And Plazuz I am afraid what you suggested didn't work :cry.

I am sorry it did not work. I recommend talking to Skuzzy. He may have a solution. It appears that the program is somehow linked to your restart command on your computer.
-
Yes it appears so, but I even tried re-downloading it in a different file after I deleted and remove the originol one. And the wierd thing is it started JUST after the TITANIC TUESDAY thing that was right after new years. And we are not talking weeks, not even days, we are talking HOURS :huh!!!!
-
Have you tried redownloading the game?
-
Did you even read my post? I said so in the FIRST LINE, it was the 10th word or so. How can you miss it?
-
Please take a minute and go back to the top. Once you get there please read the first response as it provides some
direction. Unless you think the folks that built the game have never seen your problem and cannot help you.

Ren this topic has not been moved so I am going to let sleeping dog's lie. And besides I think the problem is with the computer not the game which is why when I reloaded it, it still didn't work. Did that come out right?, ya I guess so, well anyway when I said new folder or file or whatever I meant I deleted that folder after a tech guy checked to make sure it was not connected to the restart command in anyway, re created it, had it checked AGAIN, had him check the minimum requirments and compare them with my computer and redownloaded the game. Besides this is not the only problem lately, just the wierdest.
-
I'm one of the last people to offer advice when it come to computers and such, but I had a problem somewhat like the one you describe. What I had was a very nasty virus and it took reinstalling my OS to solve the problem. I can't say you have the problem I had, but you might give this a try before shelling out major bucks. You know, maybe as a last resort. :)
-
What I'm trying to suggest is you're not the only one that's ever had this type of issue.
The one group of people who have "seen it all" are the tech folks here in the game.
If you send skuzzy@hitechcreations.com an email you then begin a dialogue that might fix your
problem.
Chatting here might be fun but may not fix your problem.

I thought you said you would be the last person to ask about tech stuff ???

who are you referring this comment to?
you know you are rather ungrateful when someone offers you advise. Ren is an Aces High 2 trainer and is well respected. (hint the reason he is a trainer for this game) The advise he gave you is the best advise anyone can give someone. Maybe next time you could try to say thanks if i need to i will.

If one still has issues with the game not working and you intend on contacting Skuzzy for help, prior to contacting him, bring up your start menu, go to run, type in dxdiag and run it. Save it as a file and send it to Skuzzy along with your query. This has been my experience that Skuzzy will ask for one. The dxdiag gives a bundle of specific information about your system that he can decipher and maybe give you a quicker response to the issue at hand.

Ah, well ok, glad it helped you save some moola. As for being the last person to ask about comp. stuff, trust me, I am! Learned what little I do know from the folks in my squad, and the peeps in here. An absolutely great bunch of folks. :salute
