When do Ki-84 flaps come out?
Can they deploy at 186?
How bout 250 mph?
-
At work now, but I believe it is slower than 186. Definitely no at 250.

I think it is even slower then 186.
EDIT: Ran a quick and dirty test in offline mode. First notch comes out at about 168, second notch at about 156. Give or take three or four mph on each.

To late to delete the post but my question arose from watching a film I made months ago. He was a good Ki pilot so I filmed him. What I did not understand was how he could get his flaps out so early.
Turns out the film viewer is using true speed and not indicated which through me off. My initial thought was that he had some special ability until I investigated into it a little more thoroughly.
There are times throughout the film that his planes flaps would deploy just briefly while going over 200mph and fully deploy at around 186 mph. After filming, I found this to be true even of myself. The action of hitting the flap down button repeatedly makes it appear on film as though they are coming out for that fraction of a second. They don't actually deploy until an indicated speed of 160- 162..... as stated.
