Feel free to discuss other games in this forum, but please do not cut-n-paste marketing and advertising information from other sites. It is really cheesy to do so.

Some folks aren't happy about some of the decisions that have been made about the game. The biggest gripe that I have come across is that you have to be connected to the net at all times to play the game even the single player.

That sucks, why do they do that? to try and prevent copied versions of the game?
-
I can't wait! :aok

Support of 64-bit operating system is not guaranteed by developers :cry

A lot of games are like that now, you can't even install them unless you are online. They automatically register it and check your registration every time you use it. Keeps you from copying it or selling your copy later on.
On the plus side, they usually check your version and automatically download patches and updates for you.

Yes, thats a bit annoying, but not unheard of nowdays.
Still, anyone reading this obviously has internet connection, and many (tho not all) will be spending a large portion of their time playing online anyway, so I'm not sure its a critical problem.
Its probably completely unfair, but I couldn't help but chuckle at the idea of Russian developers suddenly becoming sensitive about intellectual property rights.
I've been waiting 10 years for a good WWI game so I'm pretty excited and have high hopes. :rock

If you still have a old copy of MS Combat Flight Sim, check out Over Flanders Fields. Its a mod on CFS and is an excellent WW1 flying game. Actually works better than CFS.
-
From what I have heard its not like STEAM where you have to be online to install it. You must be online to even play any of the game modes. The game cannot be played at all when you are not connected. I agree with most of the negative comments about this. My biggest thing is if I buy a game I want to be able to play it reguardless of wether I'm connected to the net or not. Also as far as I know it to keep your stats and make sure you have a legal copy of the game.
-
FYI. USA release date postponed to June 25.

He he they postponed it again that is funny and sad at the same time. The Russians have had the game for a month or more.
-
If you need a connection to even play it I wont be very likely to buy it. Shame.
-
That and you have to stay connected the whole time you are playing even the single player. I normally have no problems with online games if it is an online only game. The real kicker/killer for me is that you have to connect to their server in Russia AFAIK and I have seen what my ping/latency is not that great to the UK it is down right terrible from central AR to Moscow.
-
I was eagerly awaiting this game for a long time, but with that online connection crap I will pass this one, no matter how desperate I was waitin forg a WWI flightsim for years.
I don't want to "buy" a game and then not even being able to oplay it unless a company allows me each time to do so.
BAH!

Yeah that was a stupid decision IMO.
However, since I will probably be spending 99.9999999943% of my time flying on the online servers anyway, for me its just not a deal breaker.

I've ordered my copy, it won't keep me away from here I don't think, but it's nice to have a new WW1 sim that can take advantage of today's hardware and graphics tech.
