Are there plans to have night fighters/night fights in this game ever? I read some information on the above mentioned plane with it's upward firing canon. With a top speed of 416 mph, and armament of 4 30mm 108's, 2 30mm 103's, and 2 20mm 151's it sounds interesting. The handling characteristics were reportedly excellent and pilots would get 5 or 6 kills a night against british bombers. Admittedly, at 30,000 pounds it's not really a "fighter's fighter", but a few hundred were built and did see action after 43'.

I think it was said that there weren't gonna be night fighting. In main arena at least?
However, that don't take away my desire for having night fighters in the game. Those upward firing cannons might do just fine against lancasters, and maybe B26s too?
I am not counting on seeing the 219 in any near future, but maybe if HTC is doing the Ju88 and 110, they could add the night fighter versions too (Ju88G7 was actually quite good and well liked). After all, these were also used as zerstörers against the daytime raids later in the war.
Hey those cannons might be good against vultures too (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

P-61 and Mosquito N.F. are nearly as fast an much beter at climbing and turning. How about all 3? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

For what I have read, Uhu had quite high wingloading which made it difficult to fly, atleast in higher altitudes.

About night-fighting...was tried in WBs and found wanting...you can't do away with icons, so what you end up with is a game of prop-driven Asteroids. Borrrrrrring.

Hmmmm. So if they shut down icons and we use radar to vector in....... ??? !!!

Well, radar doesn't show altitude, so, as a guess, 99% of the time you'd be vectoring into empty space. You'd only have to miss the on-the-nose contact by 1k (or less) to completely blow the whole thing. Of course, HT could code for altitude on the dar, but I don't think he will.

I flew in the WB night scenario. They used ME-110 vs Mosquito and B-17's. I had a blast!
If you set up the icons to show up only at a short distance than evasive manuevers can still work (corkscrew, etc...)and the night flyin would be a lotta fun. With ground controller radar set for arena default and dar pop-up when flying in plane set for short range, night fighting could be alot of fun.
