The Patton is post-WW2.
I don't think the Pershing got much use. Others probably know more about whether it fits HTC's inclusion criteria.

Otherwise, I'd love to see the M3 Lee/Grant (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M3_Lee). Other M4 variants would also be nice.  :aok

Nice pics of the shermans, shows great detail diffs between the cast hull and welded hull variations...

You forgot a few other possibilities, like M24 Chaffee, M18 Hellcat, Early Stewart, or the M5... Or anything with a 90mm, LOL!    But I'd really go for some Self propelled Arty first....  IMHO..

Well we don't even have one American tank so how can we get another?

I would like an American M4 and the Hellcat.

The M4 Firefly that we have in the game is more of a British version (upped gun). I agree with the OP though we should have a pure American tank to balance it all out.

Yes we need an American tank to fill the gaps in the tank set before another German tank is added :D

Everything you posted past the Pershing is post-WWII (all but one post Korea), as is the M41 (wasn't selected for service until 1964 as the replacement for the Chaffee). Only 20 T26E3s were sent to Europe and split between two divisions (3rd and 9th) of Bradley's 12 Army Group. It wasn't standardised as the M26 Pershing until after the war, and had been upgraded to the M46 by 1952. Basically all you posted that was valid for consideration was the M4 series, which already has a long and detailed thread requesting and discussing it.

You'll see a King Tiger or Brummbar in AH before you see a Pershing.

I disagree. Currently America has the aerial monopoly in bombers. So continue with the ground monopoly by adding more German tanks. Until the Germans get some more bombers, no more American tanks. :D

Not a WWII tank...
"The Sherman M-50 and the Sherman M-51 were modified versions of the M4 Sherman tank that served with the Israel Defense Forces from the mid-1950s to early 1980s. The M-50 was known abroad as the Super Sherman and the M-51 as the Super Sherman or Isherman, however, these names were never used by the Israel Defense Forces."

The M50 and M51 never saw any service with the US Army.  The M50 and M51 only saw service with the Israel Defense Force from the mid-'50s to the early '80s.  The M51 didn't come into being until the '60s when 180 Sherman tanks received the French 105 mm CN 105 F1 gun, which the IDF designated as the M-51 and the tank also received the designation of M-51.  Both types saw extensive action in the 6 Day War and eventually the M-50s were sold off to the Lebenese Forces, South Lebenese Army and Chile.  The M-51s that were retained by the IDF were converted to engineer vehicles and self-propelled artillery.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you'll never see these tanks in the game.

i wish we could perhaps have a nother american tank.

I wouldn't mind seeing a heavily perked Pershing or an even more heavily perked Super Pershing.  Would give the US side a tank that can go toe to toe with a Tiger.

Just give us the M4A3 w/ formation option, worked (most of the time) for the US Army... :)

Now if we could get an M4A3E8...  :rock

The picture of the M36 you posted is post-war.  You can tell by the top cover plate on the turret, that was a post-war addition.  M-36 would be a good addition with the 90mm main gun and the M36B1 would probably be an easy addition as this varient of the M36 was a converted M4 Sherman, of which 187 were made.

I'd be happy (someday) with

Chaffee-light tank, good for scouting and would probably be good for running around the backfield looking for drunk-droppers. Not as fast or nimble as an M8, but better gun and armor. Also used in Korea, just in case we ever get Korea scenarios.

Hellcat TD- Fast, light, and great gun. Not much armor though, so it wouldn't be able to stand toe-to-toe with a real tank.

'Easy Eight' Sherman- Best of the series, and is accurate for both WWII and Korea. Best mobility, gun and armor package of any of the mass-produced (ie-not frontline modified) Shermans.

Yeah, all those pesky American Lancasters carpet bombing everything really get me riled!

<S> GrnEagle back.i have just did some research and found out from a gentleman that the Sherman tank was upgrade in the 1940s to the M-51 SUPER SHERMAN 105MM HOWITZER.
There was a version with a 105mm howitzer, but not the 105mm gun on the M-51.  It didn't look so drastically different from a regular M4.
Would be good for building/hanger killing with the larger HE shell.  Given a small number of HEAT rounds, it would also be deadly to any tank that got close.

No, its an armored car. Tiny gun and almost no armor.

US tank destroyers won't do anything the Sherman VC does.

M-5 Stuart is an excellent little tank which would be a good proxy for early war armor for those scenario guys.

The M-3 Lee/Grant would be a fun tank and would make for great desert warfare scenarios--especially if a Panzerkampfwagen III (an Ausf. with a  long 5 cm gun) were installed along with it.

Think of ENY perks such tanks would garner for brave users.

The regular Sherman offers loads of scenario possibilities and I can see also uses for it in the MA. You could have a DD version available only from CVs, more vulnerable than an LVT in the water but much better (or rather much less crap) on land. Also the 75mm or 105mm gun could be an option in the loadout screen. As has been said the 105mm would be a useful building demolisher, but even worse than the 75mm for anti tank work.

The M67 HEAT shell had a penetration of 102mm at all ranges, above that of the 75mm/L48 KwK on the Pz4 & slightly less than that of the 17lbr on the firefly at 500m & well above the 17lbr & 88mm/L56 Kwk of the Tiger I at +1000m.....it also worked well against concrete; thus buildings would go "plooey", but not as nicely as with straight HE.  HOWEVER you would not see a load-out that consisted soley of HEAT rounds......

Wasn't aware they had HEAT rounds, learn something every day.
