Title: Just curious.
Post by: Jackraid on June 13, 2009, 03:12:39 AM
http://www.wix.com/Swampdragons/FSOFrame2 (http://www.wix.com/Swampdragons/FSOFrame2) Please forgive me for the observation....but out of all the FSO's that we have attended, I can never remember any orders ever given to a particular squad to defend a base at NOE level 1 grid away.  I think we were all wiped out in a matter of about 2 minutes.  Unless you have cloud cover there should be no reason why the visuals were set at 2.5k. There was a crystal clear blue sky, yet are first sighting was of a whole C2 squad on the deck off our nose coming at us at "2.5k".  Not really sure how they could of seen us, seeing that we sure as heck could'nt see them until it was too late.  The official whine has been posted! :cry

13 MPG were assigned to defend sectors 8.5.8 to 8.4.8 to 9.4.8 to protect A18 from the SW.

All defensive Axis squads were given CO discretion for base takeoff, loadout, and alt.   Guess they had scouts that spotted you low, or anticipated your approach.  As far as orders, they were lenient and open to interpretation as they should be.

WTG 13MPG.  :aok

Post frame whines should score points too!  :D

The 13Th Had dispatched 4 different scouts.  Your position was located and realyed to the wolves. We were around 20 k before the call came in. Wtg Scouts...  TUk151 :salute

I'm going for extra points....we lost a bunch of bombers.

This was the exact point I was trying to make.  Not sure if the visual settings were the same for both sides.

Just curious at what alt the scout was at?  If one group is at 20 k and the other group is on the deck, with the current settings I'm pretty sure neither group would see each other.

Visibility settings are for the whole arena, we don't have any capability to set visibility different per side.

:furious   well.... the next time that guy cuts FSO orders I am out, the entire offensive plan was terrible.  The orders apparently necked down things.  When we are on fighters, we always have to figure out where the bombers are coming from and they always have fighter escorts.

Nice bounce at any rate, you guys handed us our butts.  BTW I have to guy to crisis counseling following that event.
