Ok, we've all seen it happen. You've got cap over an airfield and you've dropped troops and a few get taken out for one reason or another. Why not allow pilots to bale and become a troop?
It would then become a strategic decision as to whether maintaining the cap is more important or trying to take the base immediately is.
-
Well that would be a good idea, but if you get the hordes with 30 guys, get the town and base down, then 10 can bail and there is no need for a goon...

:uhoh

WW2 pilots did not receive the same training as the goons, and are therefore unable to capture a maproom.

Yeah, the pilots also don't have machine guns either like the troops do. (even though the troop picture doesn't show a big gun)

NOE carpet -> bail.

NOE carpet -> bail.
Exactly my point.
-
It would be kinda cool though
-
How about you scale up the number of bailed pilots necessary to capture the map room to perhaps 20 or 30.
-
the main reason for horde mishuns failing is the fact that their 3 x goon drivers dont have a clue and get killed, or drop troops on the airfield because nobody wants the boring, dangerous job of the vitally important GOON DRIVER.
Spikes is 100% right after the poor innocent buildings get demolished everyone would jump in yelling GERONIMO and it will make base capture even easier than it is right now.
-
I think Friendly goons should be able to take out enemy goons if they reach the map room first on a friendly base!! :D

They can...collide with them :)

Sounds like a feature of the Battlefield games. My opinion is no.
-
What'll be next...troops with bazookas?
Uh oh, opened up another can of worms :O
-
its already bad enough with bomb-and- bail lamers.

When do we get farmers?

You have obviously never met Joe Satrapa...
-
Only players flying Me-262's are allowed to bail over a town and add thier single pilot running on the ground to capture a maproom. Lose 248 perkies for one base capture sounds fair to me. :aok

Because it is a map ROOM, not a map TOWN. 10 troops would be more than sufficient to take a room, or even a building provided it is not to big. If you wanted to increase the amount of troops required then you would have to allow formations or have a special channle for C47 pilots or troop carriers to talk to one another to coridnate movement with eachother. The reason for the special channle is that it seems people get easily annoyed at transport and bomber pilots if they ask for escorts or gunners, or even to have the skys above the town realitivly cleared. You might even concider starting a corps of pilots who will provide an escort for people who ask for one.

Or have it set so that only 1 pilot can consider as count towards map room?
IMO I think it's a bad idea.
-
That might work. Or you could make it so you can't excede the ammount of troops dropped on that base in like 15 min, meaning if you and your buddies droped 30 troops and 5 get killed then only 5 pilots will count as troops, even if you have 50 pilots bailed. And I agree, it is a bad idea yossarian.
-
The only way I would even consider this an acceptable idea is if they have all the troops/pilots stand in the room until it has enough to "pop". This way you can drive over to it in a gv and kill them all before the pilots can get in.
oh and of course a limit on the number of pilots that can be used as well.

nvrmind
thought it said bald pilots

LOL now that's funny :lol

What kind of bales are we talking about?
Square bales........the pilot would have a hard time running, more a waddling motion.
Cotton bales....well, he better be strong....or have a Jeep and other troops to load his baled self up and haul him to the maproom.
Round bales.....this I can see........just imagine a round hay bale rolling along toward the maproom. Of course, HTC'll have to make the maproom doors wider and taller to get 'em in. Be hard to aim your .45 too, rolling and rollin and rollin........they oughta add dizziness into the equation too, just to make bangin away with the .45 more of a challenge.

with all the BS in the forums he must be talking about straw bales not hay.

I agree, bad Idea!
But GV bailout, w SMG and Panzerfaust, OH YEAH :aok

A better Idea mabye is that goons have to fill troops with real players. :devil

"I NEED TEN GUYS IN MY GOON11111!!11!????///JOIN UP"
"WHERES THE MAPROOM"

With half of the players jumping out too early/late :D
-
You will also have people arguing about who should jump out of there plane, I know I certainly would not want to.
-
people would not go into the maproom because they would want to be number 10 and get the capture. You would have 10 dweebs running in circles yelling at each other to get in the maproom.
-
This is the most probable thing that would happen and the one time I would not listening to the dweebs arguing on range. :rofl

Ok, lets do it, tired of having good fights get ruined by NOE base takers.

Haha so true, AH players are predictable!
Besides, who'd want to spend +15 minutes in someone's C-47, without being able to do anything but looking out of the window?
-
a single player? NO WAY.
If you want to allow ten players to load up a goon and go capture something well.....Im all for that :rock
