Please post any pictures you have of flying though hangars in Aces High. I'll start it off!

What's with the recent influx of categorized picture threads?
-
Good question. Do you happen to enjoy "hijacking" posts?

I wish morfiend and a few of the other Training Arena usuals would pop in here. Maybe they have the film of me flying through the VH inverted in a P-38
-
Wow! I love Hunter's!

Not dismissed, but rescheduled... We'll see
-
I find the RV-8
way to bouncy to go threw a hanger inverted.

I had one of a 262 doing 500 plus thru an enemy vehicle hangar......in the MA.
The RV-8 is fine once you scale your stick for it....makes all the difference in the world.
-
Now the ultimate thing to do is to fly through the CV's hangar
And live :D

This count for CV hangars?

This count for CV hangars?
Only if you do it with a Lancaster :D
-
Before I try it, I'm wondering if it is physically possible to fly an A-20 through a fighter hangar. Will it fit?
-
Pft. No haha. But try it anyway.
Taxiing a P-38 out of there is hard enough.
-
I was skeptical myself; flying a Tempest through was hard enough - especially at 380mph!
-
Only if you do it with a Lancaster :D
I used to do it all the time. Except back then, the hangar swallowed me. :D
-
So me a B-17 or B-24 through the hangar upside. Otherwise, I'm not impressed.
-

B-25H fits through a FH, so an A-20 should.

Yes it will fit just fine, as will the Ju88s (not sure about the square door hangars with the 88s, but I know the "arched" hangars are fine.)
-
You could try clipping both wingtips off your A-20 before taking off, that'll make it fit :)
-
I'll give it a try later on today then! (Not the clipped wings version though...)
-
well I Made it IN the hanger, The wings made it all the way. :rofl

I did that with a lancaster.. i didnt mean to tho :( :lol
-
I got an A-20 and a B-25 through the fighter hangar. Upside down you just loose lift.

A-20 inverted through an FH isn't too hard
It isnt hard......its impossible and anything less than film I would consider pure fiction.

Flying through the hangar at a hostile airfield, fun!

Be expecting a film

You cant even maintain level(ish even) flight with A20G much less a B-25 so good luck with that.
(Updraft wont work either)

First, how dare you steal my Spit V???
Well, I guess you did fly through the hanger, although not all of my favorite bird made it through intact! (Notice shadow of right wing (on left) and heading of aircraft relative to door opening).
Made it through the FH in a P-38L quite a few times, and once in a 262 at freaking warp speed in the offline practice area. Once.

I was actually going to put it on Youtube before I uploaded it on mediafire so people wouldn't have to download it. Nice touch though :)

You only went through after I proved it was possible to fly through the VH in a Mossie.
-
Good job Banshee! I hope you won't mind imparting your knowledge to the rest of us. I think you would have to admit though that flying upside down at altitude is different than flying upside down through a FH.
-
Well, as you probably know, when you fly the A20 inverted it noses towards the ground. So basically, it IS impossible to fly inverted...while using combat trim. For basics: If you are flying level and trim your elevators up, the plane starts to nose up. So, I used that same concept. Before I went inverted I trimmed my elevators all the way down (which is why you see the plane start to nose over before I roll) making my plane fly "level" while inverted.
NOTE: Also, Mr. Strip, notice that that was the small FH...and not the rounded FH (which is much, much easier to go through :aok.
-
I can top all of you.... formation of B-17s went under a GV hanger.

nobody watched the Rv8 movie i posted? :D
Ok here is a screenshot of something else.
Quite difficult if you fly from the cockpit view. I failed with my one attempt in a lancaster.

:rofl Hey you just flew through an upside down hanger :D

And it's quite funny how Mr. Strip won't reply to this thread or my PM telling him to check this thread for the film. :lol

What terrain was Banshee's film made on. I only see blue sky and water in AH film viewer. (thus my rather weird comment earlier.)
-
I was in the Training Arena.

:rofl Hey you just flew through an upside down hanger :D
I can do that :D

Havent checked my pms in ages......had 7 others besides yours "collecting dust".
Congrats....you simply have much more time on your hands than I do.
Wtg!
-
not that much time actually. Only took me one try. A quick 3 minute sortie before I went to work (which why originally I said "be expecting a film by around 9 PM CST).

I meant to fly around in general......Ive logged maybe 15 hours this campaign.
-
That's more than I've logged :aok
EDIT: After Last night I have 14:45 online
-
When I was in CAF, Sketch, ScotchCAF and I were bored right before our Squad nights. A question was posed by ScotchCAF: "Can you fly an inverted B-26 through a bomber hangar?" With Sketch and ScotchCAF up, I did on the 2nd attempt. Long lost the film & SS when I reformatted my first PC that had this on it.
That was tougher than the Squad night itself.
-
You can fly a P-38 through any hanger in game, inverted.
Trust me.
-
first I16 through a vehicle hanger.

Thats easy....
Catch my drift? ;)
-
Ive landed them in the TA many times (1 in 10 albeit destroyed lol) without wind and with wind I can set every plane in the game on the water tower intact.
Try flying inside the carrier hangar....now thats a trick.
-
edit
makes more sense now i read your edit or maybe i didnt read close enough first time.
-
Yep, that is impossible strip. Id love to see you prove us wrong though.
-
I need film
-
I'm expecting 50+ films for every plane in the game on the water tower. :O
-
sigh.....
this thread went down hill fast....

Here is one I tried thru the VH...
