I've thought of some ideas that would excuse someone of having no other choice but to HO,I have only a couple, but if you can fill in, more than welcome:
1. your in a 1v1 and your having a good fight with this guy. Some picker comes in tries you. Your slow enough to fall out of the sky, but you have one good shot, and it becomes a HO shot.
2. your in a 1v1 and the guy continues to HO you, but you don't HO back, until you get sick of it and wile he has more E than you, you take the HO shot.
3. HOing when you have a vulched field to stop the vulchers
4. When your being ganged (more than two)
Any other reasons that would make a HOing rule exceptional?

I might agree with three, thats about it.

Bosco, I think you're a good guy and an excellent fight...but these posts really are becoming redundant. Not just this post, but all of them on the subject of HOing
-
I just had this Idea after I got HOed after 30 times in almost all of these situations were I could have done something, but I didn't.

First of all this is going to turn into...

Head ons are RIGHTEOUS!!! :rock

You're med-alt, only high cons who are picking you. One swoops down after ya, you nose up, give him a face full of lead.
-
If you REALLY wanna teach the HO'ers a lesson, delicately insert a few 5" rockets into their cockpit, specifically where the gunsight is :D :x :x
-
As a boxing referee would say: "Defend yourself at all times" ...... end of story
Helm ...out
-
I was gonna say when you need extra money.......but that is neither here nor there :D

It is not a HO it is the John Wayne Merge. Not a thing wrong with it.

Nothing wrong with a HO... If you look at WWII Gun camera's the "HO" was an ACM.
-
Why put your self in a situation where your opponent can shoot back? I almost always avoid the HO for the simple fact that you give up a huge chance of survival, even if the guy misses the shot you put your self in a bad position to win the fight. Against multiple cons i see no reason to invite them to shoot you in the face. A HO is admitting that your dead, even if you already are you should try and give your self the highest probability of survival.

spoken like an easy kill

Good reasons to HO:
1) You have more guns than he does (ie P47x vs. P51B)
2) You have bigger guns than he does (ie N1K1 vs. FM2)
3) Your plane does not meet 1 or 2 above but is smaller than his (ie. Hurri2 vs. Mossie)
4) You are climbing & he is decending (+E for him, -E for you)
5) You want to try & keep your ords & get to the target
-
I fire when an enemy aircraft comes into my gun sight, regardless of the direction it came from :devil.

More Good reasons to HO:
1. You suck at ACM and that is your only time you'll have the red guy in front of you.
2. You're flying an ILL

When he's in a warp speed P51/190/Typhie heading for town to kill the troops that just got released.

I got rammed/hoed the other day. I was flying on the deck when two nit cons came in and were trying to pick me. I kept turning out of the way. Finally one of them got my engine smoking. Despite that I was damaged they still tried to pick me and were unsucessful. I then dodged one of the picks only to turn back and see him turn directly in for a ram and ho. I was freaking pissed. I don't mind being in a 2vs1 even if I don't have the adv. I just hate to see someone who can't fly worth a damn go the route to ho a damaged outnumbered plane. There are starting to be nothing but lame players in here. Also to mention the guy that did this is part of a squad that all they did was ho me the day before. I try not to fight knits anymore b/c I am finding they are the country that have the most lame donut players. They do have some good sticks though.
