How can I tell my heading?
Which gauge do I use? I'm assuming it's the compass but I can't find any 3 digit numbers on any of them so how do I know what heading is 182 for example?

180 degrees is due south. You won't find 182 on any compass, but you should see a 18.
-
or if you understand that:
->0 degrees = Due North ->45 Degrees = NorthEast ->90 degrees = Due East ->135 degrees = SouthEast
->180 degrees = Due South ->225 degrees = SouthWest ->270 degrees = Due West ->315 degrees = NorthWest
then when ever you open up your Clipboard map and look at the Plane Icon in the center, you can easily cipher that a couple clicks past Due South ie 180 degrees = close to 182 degrees and will not have to search for the compass headings/numbers or be looking down and zooming in close to the Compass Guage wherever it is located in your specific plane type.....( this Plane Icon represents YOU/Your Plane's Heading via the direction the nose is pointing)
If the Plane is pointing North, then you are heading North, if it is pointing SouthEast then you are heading South East etc.......
btw...the ESC key toggles the Clipboard map to open up or minimize.....
hope this helps

Also, depending upon which plane you are in, it might be tough to find the silly compass. Took me forever to find the compass in the Mosquito... You have to hit the 0 key on the number pad to look down and see it.
Of course, you can always hit ESC and look at you icon on the clip board to get a pretty good idea which way you are pointed.

Thanks, I guess 180 was a bad example, that's easy. I was thinking more of obscure readings like 113 etc.
I know how to use the map and such.
I can figure it out.
Thanks again

there's a compass in all of the aircraft. 0=north 90=east 180=south 270=west
BTW....it's not a stupid question.

most compasses assume the trailing zero so you will only see the first two numbers.
Just slap a zero in the end in your head.
18 on the compass card = 180 degrees.
