Was in the Early war just now, 4 guys in there, all 4 on the same team, Knights. I switch to Rook from bish because a rook base is attacked. Up a 39D and go after the LVTs taking down the town, after i run outta cannon rounds i up a T34 and destroy both LVTs, then they come back in T34s so i up a 38. I shoot down a Hurricane MkIIC which is deacking the town, then am being told by someone milking the base that im lagging and need to relog, i check all my settings and im fine on my end. Then he starts calling me a moron for not relogging and what not. Some kind of class of guys they got in there!! I say if there is something that needs to be changed with the way bases are taken down in early war. Especially when there is no one on the team they are attacking. Towns become indestructible or something. Not trying to whine, i just miss the days of AH class. Been playing for 8 years now, i remember the good old days, no vaulching when people were landing, salutes after good fights, parted ways when one guy ran outta ammo, and things like this!! Awwww the good ol days!! :rock
-
Nothing needs to be changed how bases are captured in the EW arena or in any other arena for that matter. It's not the game that is causing the milk running, it's the player. The change needs to come from the player and their squadron, otherwise no matter what you do 'code' milk running out or to make it difficult will only drive away players, not attract them.
ack-ack
-
More reason to kill them. Give them a fight and they will leave and go to where your not, follow them and kill them again. Hopefully they will all up and you then have a fight and good practice for a four on one.
-
Yep, it's too bad some people don't want to fight. I've given up trying to convince some of them that it's the fight that this game is all about. I've actually had a guy tell me point blank that he will not fight and just wants to drive his tank and blow stuff up. Said guy would even tower out - giving me the proxy - when he saw/heard the enemy (me) coming near.
It is what it is...every arena has its own problem...get used to it and try not to let it get your undies in a bunch.

There can be a multitude of reasons for things like this happening, Im not saying any of them were the case for what you saw in EW today but..
You came in after some rooks had logged off, hence the Knights were fighting someone just before you got there. (happens alot in EW on all sides)
The squad has a new guy and they are showing him/her how to take a base- how to take dwn a twn, where the map room is etc.
If they are regular EW'ers maybe they didnt like the map and were trying to switch it regardless of current enemy #'s. (happens in EW because its possible to do there)
They are after the whopping 0.26 perks for taking a whole twn dwn in a T34 while no enemy are on.
They just like working together to accomplish something within the game.
They are waiting for SOAR to show up to fight with (they are a few hours early)
Their sqd doesnt have the skill or #'s on at that time to try it in LW/MW.
They like shooting buildings. :devil
Good D and :salute to you for giving them hell.
-
Sad part is that EW could be very challenging and fun due to the plane set.
Too bad more people don't log into it.
We should have an EW day once a month, and get 100 or so people in there
-
its funny you find a guy coalt with ya and you hope this is going to be the 1 :pray get all set for the merge after the merge you check behind you and he flys right to the field for the most common pork fest :frown:
-
Hehehe...that happened to me last night. Upped a SpitV to meet an incoming con. It was a Hurri2c at 10k. He passed 3k over my head and dove straight to the airbase (small) and took out the ammo bunkers. Then proceeded to egress out of the sector. *Sigh*
-
Early war is for earning V perk points ,that's all its good for.Looking for a fight, then its Mid or Late,Or DA from what i hear.
-

Happens in every arena.

no flapsup this is were i disagree your teaching these new guys the bad habits and they find it much easier to shoot buildings then leaning to fly why not take these guys to the TA and teach them the basic ACM instead leading them down the shed burning fest farm road get them interested in what this game is really about .i try to help any one thats asks for it. 1 night i was in mw and a new guy ask a guy how to dive bomb the guy told him he wasnt going to teach him how to kill him .well i that was totaly uncalled for so i pm'ed the guy and told him to meet me in the TA and i would teach him well it took a whole 10 min's of my time and he caught on very fast .and the best part of it is when you do help people and you see them land kills you win too dont about about anyone else but i feel pretty damn good about it

I seem to remember Cap1 and I have a similar discussion maybe a year or so ago. So I thought I would bring myself and a few Pigs to MW and beat on the Milkrunners. It worked fine, until they switched to the same country we were in. What you gonna do, killshoot yourself to death on them? There is no stopping them from doing it, but they certainly deserve the community's scorn that gets heaped up on them.
-
They werent new guys, they were guys with very good rank in the EW. In the top 20. I wont name names because im not that kinda person.
I love the EW because of the plane sets, gets good fights with even match ups!! I think we should all pick a date sometime in the future and go in there and have fun!!
-
eagle the last few nights i have went into ew and did have a couple good fights but there so far and in between no one wants to up
-

I dunno ... switch to an opposing country right after they switch ? ... call me crazy I guess.
-

I guess what I am saying is they will go to great lengths to avoid confrontation. Switch and you will be right back in the same boat within an hour. They will just switch again. Hopeless and frustrating.

:uhoh
then ya turn 'round and chase him. he'll turn when he's hit a couple acks.....and that's when you force him to fight ya, or ya just kill him.

can't a spit5 catcha hurri2?

They are like those little guys from the original star trek episode with the big bulging brains covered in large blue pulsating veigns....they actually think inside your own brain and play mind games with you.
Do like Kirk did and strangle them. Slap them around.......although they will still end up in your brain.

is that why you guys stopped coming in there?
the couple times i was able to fly with ya, i enjoyed it........

Yeah, generally speaking. But after he dove past me, he must've been going 400 and by the time I saw what he was doing, I didn't care enough to turn and try to catch him. I was bored and didn't want to chase him for 2 sectors to try to kill him. It just wasn't worth it to me.

Thats awesome Lazy, props to you for teaching someone... :salute seriously, and yes it does feel good to see someone learn from something you can teach them.
As for my own backyard, remember the SOAR sqd isnt mine, and its not my call on how its run. On our website I provide a section dedicated to acm, flying with a wingman, etc.. not on anything I have learned from the game really, but stuff I have found on the web mostly that can be easily shared. Thats where I do my teaching and I encourage our members to read it. Along with the general questions that are asked by newer players over our sqd/country channel.
I cant tell exactly where your disagreeing with me at.. if your saying that (in this case) I have somehow taught these Knights that Eagle Eyes witnessed today in EW killing a town, then I just really dont know what to say, and if your implying that I have somehow taught the whole AH community(those that practice such things anyway) how to shoot up a twn with no oposition for such a minimal amount of perks that its really just not worth investing the time doing, again I dont know what to say! I have been gone about the last 6 months so I cant say whats been taught, or what the new "dweebie" trend is within the game really. Like you ( I assume) I have plenty of perks to use up (in the thousands) so doing things like this is not only not interesting or fun for me, there is no real need for it.
"get them interested in what this game is really about" -The game is "about" differant things to differant people, it can be as simple as one guy who only wants to fly a p38, or a Spit or a sqd that focuses mainly on gv'ing, or a guy who cant fly well but is a monster in a tank, or the guys in EW right now with 2 bomber sorties and +100% to over +500% because they drop bombs in a Lanc or something then bail and up a Ju87 for the extra % hits(its my guess thats how they do it anyway). If your telling me that the game is all about acm, then I have to ask why is there tanks, cv's, bases to take, bombers, attack mode, strat bases, ground guns, pt boats, and on and on..
I realize it is ACES HIGH not GV'ers LOW (hah) but its not my place to dictate how someone achieves their goal of fun within the game.. while I will encourage those around me(as I have in the past) to become better pilots everyone learns at their own rate, if help is asked for I will gladly give it.

here's an idea to eff with them........bring say........10 of your guys in. split into 2 groups, in 2 different countries.
now, they have to fight at least 1/2 of yas.........and if they switch to be on the same side as some of you........the other 1/2 can still have at em........ :devil
-
Usually you can piss them off enough and the n they'll all up planes and do endless HO attempts, etc.

#1 in EW is very much like being the best at drawing stick people in kindergarten.

it's not very difficult to get into the top 20 in ew.

It does however mean that 4 did not make it into the top 20.

badabinng!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol i was in there the other night theres so many goodfights just not enought ppl :P
-
As I wished for a while back. In the EW and MW when one country out numbers one country by more then 3:1 or when one country outnumbers the other two put together troop carriers need to be disabled. The other people that this would hurt are the ones that milk undefended bases.
-
As a regular in EW I can say from my own prespective that would be fine by me Larry.. but you know what they say about wishes ;)
-
EW should be reduced to smaller maps, 1.0 burn rate, two sides and have perks earned stay in that arena.
-
As long as you don't pay for their subs..who cares?
I could never understand how so many get worked up over so few "misusing" their cartoon airplanes/tanks/whatever. :lol

Because they ruin it for the other people who would like to fly there. Simple, really.

well....yes n no.........if enough like minded people come into the arenas, they won't be able to take undefended bases...there'll always be someone for them to fihgt........

<---off to early war to sneak me a base (http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk121/TheAmish/sSc_escape.gif)

Hope the I-16 is allowed at V-bases!! lol...It would be a nice little surprise!! :x

Actually, no, they dont. They play their game which dont affect you if you dont care about bases. Look at them like they dont exist and fight with ppl who want to fight. The problem is - there are no such ppl usually. Its like CT (AvA) in off time, ppl see its empty, dont enter it and it remain empty.
Milkrunners are effect not cause. The only problem with milkers, they give EW bad reputation thus discourage others from enter arena.
-
The problem I see with it is when they milk undefended bases in the EW they can go right to LW and use those perks.
Its like when I found JohnnyRa killing JohnnyJr in the MW and he said 'its my money if Ill do what I want'. Sorry but IMO milk running bases when there is no one on to defend is just like killing shades. Perks are meant to be earned not just given out freely.
-
This is very ineffective way to earn perks, imho
-
There are more effective ways but in the long run this works. Its not hard to find people with 40+ captures a month. You get 15 perks each capture with ENY multiplier at 1.0. Since they would outnumber everyone for this example we'll say eny multiplier is at .33 . That means you get 5 perks for just dumping troops. That's 200 unearned perks a month with 40 milks for you to use in the LWs.
-
Let take soar as typical example. In 112 tour they took 262 fields in 530 hours total. With 5 perks per field it was ~2.5 perks per hour from captures
Needless to say, how horrible it is.
If they want perks, they can get alot more just shooting each other.
-
salutes after good fights, parted ways when one guy ran outta ammo, and things like this!! Awwww the good ol days!! :rock
I admit.. i do miss those :( Ive had a fair few of those

Holy cow, I thought World of Warcraft had grinding, but that is just crazy.

Nah, there is no real value to score in AH. Perks are cheap and EW has no perk rides that I know of, mid war has very few. Im guessing these guys are just having their own unique brand of fun and per usual in AH, there is no shortage of anti-fun types to complain about it. Dont worry about other people and if they are making the game less enjoyable for you then that is indeed your problem, not theirs.
Way too many people in this game complain about other people not conforming to their own vision of how the game should be approached.

Try upping a Lancaster in EW.. it used to be around the 300 perk mark :uhoh

Oh i dont mind having fun and what not, i just didnt appreciate being called a moron because i was attempting to stop the base capture. They insisted i was lagging, which i was not, and called me a moron for not logging. Thats all im complaining about is people who get mad because your trying to have some fun as well!

So log out of that cartoon land...and log into another. There's plenty more. If you canbt find a place to fight in this game, you got bigger problems.
I personally don't see any justifiable reason to get out the torches and go on a witch hunt. Its laughable. Its a game folks. In the big scheme of things, if someone gets enough perks to get a free ride in <insert perk plane here>, chances are they aren't going to shoot you down any way . And even if they do..who cares? They are for certain not going to get a second chance because they weren't good enough to earn that ride in the first place.
Other than blatant cheating , even these bozo's pay a sub, and add to the "draw" of the game with the additional numbers. As long as they aren't switching part of their squad to another side to find easy bomber kills , or to find vulches...who cares what they do in an unpopulated arena.
-

i have more fun in the ju's. you have no clue how many people will climb right up your 6, because they think the 30's on that plane won't hurt em. :D
-
Oh i dont mind having fun and what not, i just didnt appreciate being called a moron
Agreed. I dont know what can be done oabout these sorts of individuals except to squelch them. Here again is where perma-squelch, or at least a tour long/per arena squelch would be nice. These people might eventually decide to behave decently instead of being relagated to virtual NPCs.

i've only ever had to do it once or twice....to two different peeps......they seemed to have a hard on for me, and when i ignored em on open, they started pm'ing me.....so i got to the point, that concerning those two, that if anything they typed was even remotely annoying(and directed at me), i .reported them. it stopped. i guess they got the hint. :D
