Its not a huge wish, just something that I feel needs to be fixed. Currently if you get a pilot wound in a buff during blackout the bombardier is also effected. I really don't think the pilot is pulling double duty here. I could see if the front gunner gets hit the bombardier would black out. Just a simple thought of logic.

Your request makes sense. It is one of those catch 22 situations where you are/but you are not pulling double duty. Whether your wish is approved or not you can hand some of these out for future occurences...

Would be nice.

But you are pulling double or triple duty here, your flying the plane your doing the bombing and your manning the little guns.
-
I think I'll get grilled for this, but, I feel that buffs with co-pilots should have them modeled. If the pilot dies then the co-pilot should take over.
-
While we're on the topic, a thought occured to me. If the pilot is wounded in AHII then is the Co-Pilot also wounded? If the Co-pilot isn't wounded then wouldn't the Co-pilot be capable of flying the bomber rather than having it blow up when the pilot bleeds out? Of course, if the enemy lit the entire cockpit up then of course both pilots would be wounded, but what about the time when only 1 bullet enters the cockpit and wounds just the pilot.
I too would like to still see my bombsight when bombing rather than blacking out every few seconds. The bombadier has control of the plane when making a bombing run anyways, so if the pilot blacks out the plane won't roll over and dive towards earth.
-
And what if the pilot is killed, and not the co-pilot. Instead of blowing up should the co-pilot take over?
-
If they are going to have it so the pilot can be wounded or killed independent of the bomb sight, keep in mind, the same could be said about the bombadier... so there is a chance that you could be flying along fine only to discover you can't drop bombs. That being said, I'm fully behind this. :aok :aok

I disagree with this line of thinking.....most bombers carried people that were cross trained or at least had basic knowledge of other positions. Maybe impair the accuracy but dont outright kill the ability to drop bombs. Perhaps model the gunsight itself?

Yes he should. Along this line of thought if you have a gunner, he should be able to control the plane if you switch to a gun. Like say if 999000 took off in a buff, and was joined by someone who was a beter pilot but a worse gunner than he was, shouldn't he be able to fly the plane while 999000 guns? And If we are having all crewmen's health independant then your guns might be shot out easier. And besides if the bombadier gets wasted (or killed, I prefere to think of it as passing out rather than blacking out, but to each his own) then you can still drop bombs by guessing when to drop or you could just plaster the field or town. I might fly a Lack over a town at just above Ack level if there wasn't that many fighters and just bomb the crap out of a town or field.

Not the best example. Because the only person that can fly better or gun better than 999000 is Super-999000. Unfortunately he does not exist. :D

Ok, what ever, lets say I'm a great pilot but my gunning could use some work while you are a great gunner but somehow manage to crash you plane at 20K (not saying you do but just an example). You up and I join you. Wouldn't you like to switch places?

I would like the option. Certainly deserves it's own wishlist request.

Problem: You don't like the guy who guns and shoots up all your ammo now.... How about the guy who jumps in the pilot seat....
I know. Be picky as to who joins you and, it's all in the coading. How it is implemented on who can go where when.
Seems more trouble than it's worth.

You wana put it up there or should I, I just started one about AP bombs and holes in a carrier's flight deck.
And wrong way, it would be up to you to choose who flys or who joins you. I think if we did this thoug, we should have a button that would jetison whoever is flying with you.
