Title: yak9u at speed

has anyone ever ripped off the wings on a yak9u? i did for the first time at 368mph. it didn't think that could happen in a yak. :huh

I've seen it happen on lots of planes.  It still always amazes me that someone would pull that hard.

IIRC the Yak9U will go creaking into the very low 500s in a dive.

Don't yank so hard.

I ripped em off a P40E at 400ish, wasnt even blacking out yet either.

I've lost ailerons at around 400+. You must have been yanking like a teenager to pornography.

When we get the Yak3 you find it (high speed high G wing removal) even easier...............

Be smoother... Gentle application is much nicer to the wings.  :P
