Is there anybody that dose their own fly tying? What is the best place you go on the web to get material? The best that i have found is Don Bailey. Bass Pro Shop and Cabela's is a major disappointment.
-
What are you looking for? Tools, or actual tying materials?
I have more luck finding stuff in local shops, if you have the option. These are a few I have used for the basics:
www.orvis.com
ww.Flyshack.com
www.feather-craft.com

I try and buy local as much a possible, especially materials like feathers, hackle and hair. I've bought feathers online before and it ended up being crap. If you have a local shop you can verify what you buy, most employees are willing to go the extra mile to help and your supporting a local business. If you're looking for hooks, thread, non-animal stuff etc... then this is where I sometimes go:

good luck,

My best time at fly tieing or as some call it "fly dogging" is 12 seconds.
I'm concerned for the sport as of late because of PETA claiming we are abusing the flies.
Normally the flies are kept penned in a large exercise area and fed very well. When we dog them they are not hurt in any manner. There is at least one Entomologist at every competition to keep the flies in good health.
