Got a lucky HO at 19k on a Ki67 formation in my P-40E... No way I could chase, too slow. Gave up, and on the way to land got the credit for a kill. A couple of folks were harrassing them so I figured they finished the plane off for me.
Later on I checked the film to judge how my aim was in the HO. Turns out I gave the drone a pilot wound (red splash on canopy).
Question is: If left alone, will bomber DRONE pilot bleed out and eventually pop? Or does it wait until player ejects and jumps into the wounded ride?
I've flown bombers a lot but have never noticed a pilot die on me like that, and was curious.

I think they do bleed out and die, Krusty. I seem to think I remember having a PW in both of my drones, but when I landed I only had my main bomber.

I have a similar question. If you kill say 1 or more engines on a drone and they drift back will they eventually explode just like if you get to far away from your drones?
-
I think so, but drones have "more" power than normal, so that they can catch up to you even if you're at top speed.
So even with 1 engine out, they're still a little faster than you would be with 1 engine out, and the few times I do recall RTB with drones leaking oil, they lasted a VERY long time before the engines plain-ol'e quit on 'em.
So, "yes" but with a qualifier that "it's not going to affect you right away"

Yes.

Yes but you can lower throttle on the lead buff to allow them to keep up.
