Title: How much ord?
Post by: 1Boner on June 28, 2009, 09:58:33 PM
Anyone know how much ord it would take to sink a freshly upped cruiser??

Apparently it doesn't take too much.

I upped a gun on an untouched cruiser, only to watch a single F-6 dive in and sink it in one pass.

I thought it was pretty amazing and said so, and the reply was " its really easy".

Sooooo, what does it take? 2 1000lbers or 2 1000lbers AND rockets?

I've never seen ANY ship in the fleet taken down so easily before. :O

According to the AH2 website, its takes 8 1000 lb bombs (or equivalent) to sink a capitol ship, and 2 1000 bombs to sink the other ships.  My guess is the CA takes 2 1000 lb'ers.

Yep it's actually very easy to kill the cruiser.  And I find it funny that the escort ships and the cruiser take the same amount of ords to turn it into a artificial reef.

Yup, it is not.

And the actual amount to sink a cruiser (and a destroyer of course) is 1.5625 x1000lbs bombs.

No, cruisers were not considered capital ships in WWII, with the notable exception of the German heavy-gunned cruisers (pocket-battleships).
