Can anyone tell me the differences between fight characteristics of the 2 P-47s now available? I sure they both can dive like screaming banshee's but what is the new Jug going to be like in a fight?
Thanks In Advance,
Ash

ok westy
so the -25 shood have directional instability (dorsal fin -27 onward), and shood not carry rockets (racks -30 onward). right??
-
Less directional lateral stability and it should have the rockets it has available to it now. And no dive flap -which it does not.
It was the first bubble top version.

but ur web site u list indicates only the -30+ model was the first with racks for HVAR...r we now modeling field kits???
-
It isn't necessarily a contradiction. First, the 20E introduced the "Universal Wing" which allowed a wide variety of ordinance, and secondly the 30-RA onward is quoted for having HVAR racks for 10 rockets, not the 6 employed by the 25.
I like this site, but don't consider it to be the definitive information source. I bet if you dig a little you will find evidence that the -25 could carry rockets.
-
Correct on HVAR, but the "bazooka" tubes we have now were a commone armament prior to the HVAR.
The websites I posted are good references, but should not be misconstrued as having the final word or being 100 % factual or complete.
