I use the ATI Tray Tool.  I see no reason to give up to 20% of the video card performance away just to run the Catalyst Control Center.  If the ATI Tray Tool was not available, I would never buy ATI again.

I have a Sapphire Toxic 4850 at home.  You can get the ATI Tray Tool from Guru3D (http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=733).

SKUZZY,is there ANY way possible that you could post your settings for ray adams tray tools??

especially the ones under standard tweaks and advanced tweaks..I am still having issues in-game with polygons "running" along the edges of hangars,I would like to know where your 3d settings are also.. SS or descriptions would be AWESOME!!!! :aok

I'll see what I can do falcon23.  My card is in my home computer and it is a challenge to get image files to here from there to post them.

Rookie question, do I have to delete the ccc prior to installing Ray adams Tool tray?

Here's my fear, I deleted an sb sound card once and ended up having to restore my computer. I don't want that.

I believe so getback,I always have, and never had an issue with it..BUT I THINK,it will also delete your driver so have one at the ready to install..

There should be a separate un-installer for the CCC.  ATI has always kept that separate from the driver.

To avoid CCC, altogether, ATI does make a driver only installer.  It, in my opinion, is always a better option.  It avoids a lot of other things ATI will install with the entire package that 99.9% of the people never need.

ray adams tray tools are not the driver for your video card..You will have to get the driver from ATI website,or a disc etc..etc..Tray tools is more of a TWEAK THE DRIVER tool..so yes..

thank you very much i have got rid of ccc and just installed the drivers, seeing that i am not computer minded i have left the tweaking to George Micheal and his driver  :D
Thanks for your help

ps: new beta water is very realistic and adds to the game, the old water was ok for us in the UK because it represents how our coastal water looks (Grey and not very clear)  :D

Zack,You will probably want to have ray adams tool so you can do SOME adjusting...But it wont take up near as much CPU as the ati CCC..
