...and I'm dead. Tanking is getting really frustrating these days. My connect is solid and since there is no major warping around me I assume it's ok for others. Then why do I sometimes hit another tank or Osty 6,7,8 times but when I get hit by 1 round I'm back in the tower. Yesterday I hit an Osty 11 times only to have a fighter jock come by and in 1 pass, kill him and I'm left with an assist!
I really hope the new GV damage model will help correct this! Like I said...very frustrating!

75mm and 37mm sucks... try mounting a Hispano on your tank, it would also lower your tanks profile with the smaller turret.
That would be a real massacre.

The US had a halftrack in trials/prototype which was armed with twin 20mm Hispanos - now that would be the perfect anti-tank vehicle (under current damage model) being fast, and green (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Gv's seem to exhibit more "lag" type behavior than airplanes. Whether it's sending or receiving hits. Or at least that's been my experience.
But I am eagerly awaiting the new damage effects.

Lag shouldn't fail sending hits to the opponent..
It's not like some delta force where you have to hit the guy in his FE, but in AH you'll get hits when you hit instead. (in DF you can hit running guy as many times as you wish, but to no use because *he* wasn't hit)
Anyways, I've been in a tank myself that has took like 8 hits or so, couple of times, that was like face to face, I lost my turret on second one and I rushed with bow MG (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Yep Lars I hear you. Hitting them 10 times and dying on the first ping. Even worse is getting shelled by a guy who does not have LOS but is using F5 view to adjust his fire. I hung up the GV's for a long time because of this type of baloney.

Ahh that's how they do it ... can you do the same thing on a ship??

Lars. Hit the panzer and the osty low. Like as low as you can and still get a hit sprite. The upper hull and turret are nearly invincible.

Tried that a few times, moving my hits from turret to left rear track then to left front track low then directly at the drivers position..all from less than 1200yds. From greater distances I seem to be able to kill in 1 or 2 shots, must be the damage from a high angle is weighted more heavily than muzzel velocity at short range.

zigrat i gotta agree with you there,they are next to useless as the tank is always in the way of the veiw you want!
But in a way it simulates the really poor visibilty that they had.the bombers get to use the external view i assumed because it helps make up for the number of crewmens eyes you should have searching the skies.
seems fair for buffs i think but a tank whilst online i think should be made the same as fighters.in driver pos the only view should be first person in my opinion.It would make pos3 a much more valuable position.and would make target aquisition from gunners pos a little more tricky.
