After the initial discussions on this topic, many think that there is good reason for this not to be.

But, I'd like to see the Friendly collision configuration settings changed somewhat for scenarios and
FSOs. Basically the friendly collisons would be on.
Aircraft would spawn with a thirty second collision delay.
If an event would better off not to having that setting turned on (e.g. Coral Sea 2009)
Then the CM can set the collision status to off for aircraft on the ground.
It is a challenge for not only best aerial combat skills, but best airmanship as well.
Friendly Collisions = On

And when flying in formation, a single guy thats starting to warp will stark to wreak havoc on his fellow pilots.

Oh the whines then!!! :furious

Been there done that, was lead with over 20 formations of b17's behind me, someone warped, I'm down.
No thanks, that has no place in AH until there is no lag.

How often do you get that close to a friendly aircraft (other than take-off and landing obviously)? Adding a delay or certain areas where collisions are off seem 1) complicated 2) unnecessary extra. Although I wouldn't mind seeing friendly collisions in flight, I feel it's a tiny little detail that would just complicate the game way more than it's worth.

You haven't seen many laggers yet I imagine. Lag is different on a case by case. At times you can have a plane warp 3k ahead or behind. So in that example, you don't even need to be flying tight. A really poor connection could have somebody warp so many times in an instant that it could conceivably wipe out a whole squadron.

Yea, unfortunetly lag and warping are an issue with this particular setup. I suppose it becomes more of a nice though than a reality.

I remember an air race where RDRTrash was 5.0K+ behind the pack (which is never normal for him). During the straight-away on the last lap, he warped up past the leaders and ended up winning the race. Film confirmed it wasn't a gyp.

Good point

Good initiative, bad judgement. The lag and warp situation could lead to mass accidental collisions.
