on the a8/a5 heres a pic of what i was rambling about how the front cowling comes closer to the prop spinner.

could you pull the diameter of the front cowling in a little closer to the prop spinner. that front row of polygons thats very narrow and slopes to the prop the most.

perhaps if the edge of this polygons on the side towards the tail is left as is and the side towards the spinner is shrunk to make the space between the prop spinner and the cowling more narrow and streamlined looking?

Can you also add a rotating cooling fan inside the cowling instead of the black hole?

Ya our A5 should have a scheme similar to that... even though thats an A4.

Also... what about these for the G6 and A5?

The 109 is a G-6 of JGr. 50 piloted by Hermann Graf, September 6 1943.
JGr. 50 was two of the JGr, the other being JGr. 25, both were formed to combat the Mosquito attacks that greatly irritated Goring. JGr. 50 was commanded by Graf and JGr. 25 by Herbert Ihlefeld. Soon both the JGr. proved unsuccessful and they were disbanded.

I agree, top winter camo is beautifull, one of my fav too. The last camo is a bit circus flying, I don't like it.

If u flew AW3, the top camo was available in SAC  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

While we're at it, how about less pointy 38 spinners and rounder cowlings (their kinda hexagonal) on the C-47?

Could we have a 190A8/R8 sturmbock for buff hunting? lots of pilot and cannon armour, 20mm's on wing replaced by two Mk108 30mm's ideal for hitting the current AH B17's with their deadly guns.

Umm... A8 with 30mm is an R8.

R2 is 2x30mm MK 108. R6 is 2xWGr 21 rockets. R7 is extra armour. R8 is R2 + R7.

In AH the Fw 190A-8 has options for R2 and R6.

It may have the Mk108 option as a loadout but not the extensive pilot armour and armour around the cannon, seems in an AH 190A8 when attacking a buff the engine or cannons are the first to go this should not be the case, in the same way they created a new P47 which was a close variant to the first one they did can they tweak the current 190A8 and give us a new plane for buff hunting. Pity my m8 has taken his scanner home have some nice diagrams of the armour.

Hmmm the engine on the 190 should be pretty vulnerable to fire from the front.  Even the late-model cowlings didn't have enough armor to stop a .50 cal.  The oil cooler is part of the cowling, a pretty big target.  And remember this aircraft has fuel injection - there is a fuel line running to each cylinder!  A single hit from any caliber weapon could result in flammable liquids spraying onto hot surfaces - POOOF.  And R7 or R8 wouldn't change this one bit.

As for the armor for the MK 108 ammo boxes, it's probably not included in the sim.  But I doubt the sim models the reason for this armor - a single hit to these ammo boxes could set off the high-explosive shells within, turning a Fw 190 into a pretty fireball.

I just think that the current leathality of the buffs guns a tad high, engine hits should be less frequent with a ring of 5.5mm-6.5mm armour around the front cowling combined with 4mm and 20mm armour around the cannons with almost a solid bathtub type protection of 5mm armour plating with 50mm bullet proof glass would make attacking a buff a little fairer especially for using a dead 6 of HO attack as used by the Sturmgruppe. The Mk108 is pretty much a short range weapon for any kind of accuracy, pilots were told not to open fire until 100 yards and the current buff guns give no chance to get close to use them.

"During the advance each man picked a bomber and closed in on it. As our formation moved forwards the American bombers would, of course, let fly at us with everything they had. I can remember the sky being almost alive with tracer. With strict orders to withhold our fire until the leader opened up, we could only grit our teeth and press ahead. Infact, however, with the extra armour, surprisingly few of our aircraft were knocked down by the bomber's return fire. Like the armoured knights of the middle ages, we were well protected."

If they dinnae stop a .50, I wonder what the Jerries were thinking when they added all that armor on planes designated as buff hunters.

Might stop a .303, but those dudes were night bombing.

But, but Natedog, what about the B17?

She has seniority, right? For the way the engine covers are faired into the wings and the flat tires when the gear is retracted.

Great job on the new stuff.

When did they put this thing in here and WTF is it for?

And the tail gunner position. The B26 has a pretty well drawn out area for the tail gunner.
